Selection Held for Mountaineering Expedition and Training

Chandigarh, 7 th   May, 2016 Chandigarh Administration in association with Indian Mountaineering Foundation is organising a mountaineering expedition and training for specially abled candidates. The first expedition will be flagged off by the Governor of Punjab and Haryana and Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh, H.E. Prof.  Kaptan Singh Solanki on   13th May 2016 , and the course will start from the   14th May   at Manali , Himachal Pradesh. Selections for the candidates were held today at MCMDAV College wherein 76 candidates participated in the selection process. Various tests under different categories like walking, climbing and motivation were conducted to test the calibre of the participants. Specially Abled youth of Chandigarh showcased some outstanding efforts in the selection. Administrator’s Advisory Council Reconstituted

Chandigarh, 7 th   May, 2016: The Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh is pleased to reconstitute the Administrator’s Advisory Council to advise the Chandigarh Administration on developmental issues and policy matters affecting the U.T., Chandigarh. The term of this Council shall be for a period of two years. The Council comprises of Administrator, U.T, Chandigarh as the Chairman and the members include Smt. Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament, Sh. Satya Pal Jain, Additional Solicitor General of India, Sh. U.T. to Celebrate World Red Cross Day on 8th May

Chandigarh, 7 th   May, 2016: The Indian Red Cross Society, U.T, Chandigarh will organize an annual function on the occasion of World Red Cross Day on 8 th May, 2016. Sh. Virender Chaudhary, HCS, Secretary Indian Red Cross Society, Chandigarh said that the function will be organized under the overall supervision of Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, U.T., Chandigarh at the Auditorium of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-42, Chandigarh at 05:00 P.M. The Governor of Punjab and Haryana and Administrator U.T., Chandigarh, H.E. Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki will be the chief guest and Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator and President, Indian Red Cross Society, U.T., Chandigarh will preside over the event on this occasion.

Inspections at Private Coaching Institutes of Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 6 th   May, 2016:  Private Coaching Institutes, providing coaching for children in Chandigarh were inspected today by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights in Collaboration in association with the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights with Participation from Haryana and Punjab Commissions for Protection of Child Rights.  The team consisted of Sh. Priyank Kanoondoo, Member, NCPCR, Smt. Shaista Shah, Smt. Geetanjali and Sh. Rajnikant. Prof Devi Sirohi, Chairperson, CCPCR, Prof. Nishtha Jaswal and Sh. Pramod Sharma, Member, CCPCR along with Sh. Relieving Orders

Union Territory of Chandigarh Victim Assistance Scheme

Chandigarh, 6 th May, 2016: In exercise of the powers conferred by Section  357 A of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Act 2 of 1974), the Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh is pleased to amend the Union Territory of Chandigarh,Victim Assistance Scheme, 2012, namely:- 1.     This scheme may be called the Union Territory of Chandigarh Victim Assistance (Amendment) Scheme, 2016. 2.      In clause 3 of the Union Territory of Chandigarh Victim Assistance Scheme,  2012 (hereinafter referred to as said Scheme), Sub-Section (4) the fund shall be operated by the Member Secretary, State Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh in place of the Collector/Deputy Commissioner of the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
