Health Camp

Chandigarh, 30 th  July, 2016:  Chandigarh Health Department in Collaboration with Municipal Corporation, Gynae. Department, GMSH-16 and State Bank of Patiala organized free Health Camp at Civil Dispensary, Sector 8 today. The Health Camp was inaugurated by Sh. Baldeo Purushartha, IAS, Commissioner Municipal Corporation and Joint Commissioner Sh. Rajiv Gupta. This was the sixth Health Camp in continuation of previous five Health Camps held at Daddu Majra, Maulijagran, Dhanas, Ramdarbar and PHD 25.  Dr. Vanita Gupta, Director Health Services assured that the optimum health care services will be provided to people coming to the health facilities. Commissioner Municipal Corporation announced exclusive support in this social cause of organizing health camp. Specialists from field of Medicine, Gynae., Eye, Skin and ENT examined patients and gave free consultation. Camp for Person with Disability

Chandigarh, 29 th July, 2016: The Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration in convergence with ALIMCO organized a camp for Person with Disability at Aasha Kiran, Sector 46 today. In the camp 190 Persons with Disability were registered who were identified during the survey conducted by the Department from the month of March to July. After registration these 190 beneficiaries were assessed by the technical officers of the ALIMCO for the requirement of aids and appliances of these beneficiaries. In all 38 digital type Hearing Aid & Smart Canes, 11 tablets, 14 Daisy player, 70 folding wheel chairs, 24 Tri Cycle and 15 artificial limbs shall be provided to these beneficiaries free of cost under SIPDA scheme of Government of India Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.                           ...

Bharat Prakarsh Foundation donates water purifiers to 47 ICCW crèches

Chandigarh, 29 th July, 2016: 47 crèches run by the Indian Council of Child Welfare (ICCW) along with the Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration caters to the needs of day care of children from families with working parents. These centres take good care of the children; however they lacked access to safe and clean drinking water.           Initiative taken by Smt. Bhawna Garg IAS, Secretary Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration , "Project Neer" was launched by BPF in collaboration with Lets endorse, an online portal in July 2016 for providing safe potable water to the crèches. The Project has been successfully fulfilled with the support of Corporate Patrons of Bharat Prakarsh Foundation namely Nectar Lifesciences Ltd. and Winsome Foundation and Tata Swachh Smart Water Purifiers are being given to each of the 47 crèches.

National Awards for Excellence in Journalism

Chandigarh, 29 th July, 2016: Press Council is seeking entry for National Awards for Excellence in Journalism. November 16 is observed as the National Press Day, by the Press Council of India, a statutory autonomous authority, set up by an Act of Parliament to Preserve the freedom of the press and maintain its high standards. The Council is completing 50 years of its establishment and, therefore, a Golden Jubilee Commemoration on November, 16, is being contemplated. A Function to this effect will be held in Delhi, coinciding with conferment of National Awards for Excellence in print Journalism in various fields. The entries for Awards have been invited through advertisement. The same can be seen on the website of the Press Council of India i.e. www.presscouncil.nic.in with other documents. 

Registration Process for Haemophilia patients

Chandigarh, 29 th July, 2016: Govt Medical College & Hospital, sector-32, Chandigarh has started the registration process for Haemophilia patients. These patients shall submit a photocopy of the OPD card with prescription, completed Haemophilia Registration Form (available in the Haemophilia clinic), document of residence proof (Voter Card, Aadhar Card, Driving licence/telephone bill/electricity bill) & two recent photographs to Nodal officer in the Medicine OPD, Room No. 5303, Level 5, Block-B, GMCH-32, Chandigarh on every Wednesday from 10:00 am to 12:30 Noon

Health Awareness camp

Chandigarh, 29 th July, 2016: As a preparatory activity under the guidance of Director Health & Family Welfare, UT-Chandigarh the Malaria wing of Health Department, UT-Chandigarh today organized Health Awareness camp/ advocacy workshop at Village Sarangpur, as a part of observance of July as Anti Dengue Month.           The awareness camp was attended by Dr. Inderpal Singh (Epidemiologist-IDSP), MO Incharge DR. Health Camp to be held at Civil Dispensary

Chandigarh, July 28, 2016:  Chandigarh Health Department in Collaboration with Municipal Corporation, Gynae. Department GMCH-32 and State Bank of Patiala is going to organize free Health Camp at  Civil Dispensary, Sector 8  on 30 th  July, 2016 (Saturday) from 8.00 AM onwards. This is in continuation of previous Five Health Camps held at Daddu Majra, Maulijagran, Dhanas, Ramdarbar and PHD-25. Dr. Vanita Gupta, Director Health Services said “The doctors from various specialities like Medicine, Gynae., Skin, Eye and ENT will be examining patients and will be providing free consultation.” Health promotion and awareness generation regarding prevention, timely detection and management of Non Communicable Diseases and other diseases will be the main highlight of the screening camp.   People will be screened for Leprosy, Oral, Breast and Cervical Cancers.
