Inauguration of 42nd e-sampark centre

Chandigarh 28 th , September, 2016:  Committed to the cause of enhancing the e-governance capabilities by reaching out to the residents in every  corner of the City and addressing the long pending demand of the sector – 41 residents, the Department of Information Technology, Chandigarh Administration opened  a new  e-Sampark Centre in Sector 41 today. Smt. Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament, Chandigarh inaugurated the 42 nd e-sampark centre .Opening of this centre will further strengthen the network of sampark centres in city and will make the public services more accessible to the residents. This was a much needed e-sampark centre as there was huge demand of a full fledge e-sampark centre in Sector – 41 which can cater to the increasing footfall of residents e-sampark centre of sector-40 & 43 which will ease the pressure on these centres . 399th Meeting of the Chandigarh Housing Board

Chandigarh, 28 th September, 2016: The 399 th meeting of the Chandigarh Housing Board was held today. The following is a gist of the major decisions that were taken by the Board:- 1.      Grant of Adhoc Bonus, Diwali Gift & Honorarium to employees of CHB, on the occasion of Diwali-2016. The Board has approved grant of honorarium @ Rs.2000/-, Bonus @ Rs.3500/- and Diwali Gift of Rs.1000/- to all the employees including deputationists working in Chandigarh Housing Board.  All the above benefits shall be paid out of the profits of Chandigarh Housing Board. 1.      Need based changes in Chandigarh Housing Board DUs: yearly penal charge for constructions not in accordance to permissible area, ground coverage, building byelaws etc.                                                         ...

Surveillance Drive

Chandigarh, 28 th September, 2016: A surveillance drive was carried out today at New Colony Dhanas wherein 6 challans were issued to the repeated defaulters for maintaining mosquito genic conditions. This brings to total challans 46, 50 show cause notices and 3294 notices. Over the last two days 45 cases of Dengue has been reported from various health institutions which includes39 new cases and 6 confirmed amongst probable cases (till the release of press note) which brings the total number of Dengue cases to 319 in the city ( these number includes 36 reported from dpl manimajra which are resident of Chandigarh out of which six had wrong address). Four new cases of chikungunya have been reported by GMCH 32 and PGIMER. On field investigations it was observed that out of these one was reported as wrong address and three are residents of Chandigarh. Cases of Dengue in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 27 th September, 2016: Today  15 cases of Dengue has been reported from various health institutions which includes 9 new cases and 6 confirmed amongst probable cases(till the release of press note)which brings the total number of Dengue cases to 274 in the city. One new case of Chickungunya has been reported by GMCH 32 and PGIMER. The details of31 cases of chickungunya detected in Chandigarh is; 7 imported, 7 wrong address and 17 from Chandigarh. To further strengthen the preventive activities, daily fumigation is being carried out alongwith strengthening of field activities which includes mass awareness, checking of breeding sources like coolers, containers, tyres and other sources. Administrator U.T, Chandigarh inaugurates the exhibition- "I Love The Beauty Of Grey"

Chandigarh, 27 th September, 2016: Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, Hon'ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator U.T, Chandigarh at Govt Museum & Art Gallery Sec-10, Chandigarh today inaugurated an exhibition of paintings- "I LOVE THE BEAUTY OF GREY" by Antonio Puri. During the exhibition Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore also unveiled a Catalogue based on the work, inspiration and life of the artist. Antonio Puri, born, in Chandigarh in1966 and raised in the Himalayas, studied art at the Academy of Art in San Francisco and Coe College, Iowa and holds a law degree from the University of Iowa. He has incorporated Corbusier’s plans, maps, codes in his paintings, which reflect grey and the installations are ideal of Corbusier’s architecture and vision, to design buildings, interiors and artworks that are in sync with the surrounding spaces. World Tourism Day Celebrations in U.T, Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 27 th September, 2016: The World Tourism Day 2016 was celebrated today in U.T, Chandigarh with utmost splendour and glory. The purpose of celebrating World Tourism Day is to raise public awareness on the role of tourism and to demonstrate how tourism helps spread social, cultural, political and economic values worldwide and lead to more tolerance and appreciation of each other's cultures, religions and habits. Each year, a theme is selected for the event and celebrations are centered around that theme. The theme for this year is 'Tourism for All – promoting universal accessibility'. In an aim to promote the theme for this year, the Department of Tourism, U.T. Chandigarh had planned a series of special events throughout the day.
