Notification for declaration of Major District Roads

Chandigarh, March 16, 2017:   In partial modification of Chandigarh Administration, Engineering Department Notification No. G-II/05/03 dated  21.10. 2005, all the V-1,  V-2,V-3 roads are hereby declared as Major District Roads with immediate effect except National Highway No.21 passing through the city via  Junctions No.  39, 38, 37, 36, 35, 34, 49, 59, 58, 57, 56, 55 and 54 and THE Madhya Marg from Panchkula Border to Mullanpur Border passing via Junctions 43, 42, 22, 21, 20, 19, 18, 17 and 16. The jurisdiction for development and maintenance of these roads on re-classification shall remain with the Chandigarh Administration and Municipal Corporation, as it is.

Seminar organized for consumer awareness on World Consumer Rights Day

Chandigarh Housing Board Invites Applications under Chandigarh Allotment of dwelling units to the Oustees of Chandigarh, Scheme

Chandigarh, March 15, 2017: Chandigarh Housing Board has invited applications w.e.f. 30.1.2017 for allotment of flats/Dwelling units to the eligible oustees of UT under Self Financing Scheme on Leasehold/freehold Basis under “Chandigarh Allotment of dwelling units to the Oustees of Chandigarh, Scheme, 1996”.  The last date for close of the scheme was fixed on 28.2.2017 which has been further extended upto 15.3.2017. The Chandigarh Housing Board has offered i.e. 263 Dwelling Units 27 HIG (3BR), 102 MIG(2BR), 60 LIG(1BR) & 74 EWS (One Room) to various oustees, as per their option. The Registration and allotment of flats is only open to the Eligible Oustees of UT Chandigarh in cases of Land/House was acquired for which notification under section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act was issued before 31.10.2007. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, District Magistrate, U.T., Chandigarh that commercial establishment/shopkeepers engaged in the business of Restaurants/Dhabas, Discos, Clubs and Vendors sitting by the road sides and on the public places operating till late in the night are causing annoyance and are disturbing the public peace and tranquility leading to a harmful influence on public order.                    Sh. International Women’s Day Celebrations

Chandigarh, 08 th March, 2017:   International Women’s Day was celebrated in Govt. Girls Model Sr. Secondary School Sector-18 on March 8th, 2017 in the school premises by organizing a cookery competition among all the staff members of the school. Principal Smt. Raj Bala has taken this new initiative and encouraged all the staff to participate in this competition. The teachers prepared some delicious dishes. Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, PCS, Director School Education, Chandigarh Administration was the chief guest of this occasion. While addressing the teachers Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar highlighted the significance and contribution of women in today’s life. The winners were awarded prizes along with certificates by Director School Education and he highly appreciated the efforts and praised all the staff for their zeal and enthusiasm they shown in the competitions. He congratulated the Principal and the staff on the occasion of Women’s Day.

Raid Conducted

Chandigarh, 08 th March, 2017:   On request of Member Secretary, Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee under the directions of  Dr. Tapasya Raghav, IAS, Sub Divisional Magistrate (East), U.T. Chandigarh the Sub Inspector (Enforcement), Estate Office, Chandigarh has sealed M/s Anmol Bakery, Plot no. 810 near Govt Tube Well, Hallomajra, Chandigarh. On 20.01.2017 inspection was carried out by the Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee and found that the above bakery was discharging the waste water into sewer without any treatment. They have also installed Electric oven and one no D.G set which was not equipped with acoustic enclosure. 

CHB Tatkal Service

Chandigarh, 08 th March, 2017:   The Chandigarh Housing Board has provided the Tatkal facility for various services of CHB. Under this scheme, the case of the applicant is processed on priority basis. In order to bring further transparency, the Tatkal Section i s now putting up the cases to the competent authority within 3 days from the date of receipt of application, after completion of all the required formalities.                    The Chandigarh Housing Board,as of date, i.e. 7 th March, 2017, has provided Tatkal service to one thousand two hundred twenty seven applicants of various categories and earned a sum of Rs.4.34 crores as detailed below: - S.
