Chandigarh, 9 th  February, 2018 :   National Deworming Day (NDD) was launched today on 9 th  February 2018 from Govt. Senior Secondary School, Sector 15, U.T. Chandigarh. All children in age group of 2-19 years will be administered Deworming tablets, free of cost in all schools & Aaganwadies of Chandigarh, followed by the mop-up day on February 15 th  2018. Students are    appraised with education training practice on    the importance of “Hand washing” & and Maintaining personal Hygiene.   On this occasion, Director Health & Family Welfare, Dr. G. Dewan, addressed children on key points to prevent worm infestation & importance of National Deworming Day. Chandigarh, 6 th  February 2018:  Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-11, Chandigarh, took a big leap forward and various projects and initiatives under RUSA Infrastructure Grant were inaugurated today.  Sh. B.L. Sharma, IAS, Education Secretary, Chandigarh Administration was the Chief Guest on the occasion, Mr.Rakesh Kumar Popli, PCS, Director Higher Education, Chandigarh Administration was the Guest of Honour and Dr Dalip Kumar, Additional State Project Director, RUSA was also present in the inauguration function. Chandigarh, 6 th February 2018: It is for the information to the general public/residents of Chandigarh that online appointment system will run in the main office of Registering & Licensing Authority, Sector-17, Chandigarh from 8 th Feb, 2018 for submission of the files/documents for different services of registration of vehicles and issuance of driving license. The applicant can get online appointment by login to the official website i.e. www.chdtransport.gov.in or through Chandigarh Helpline Number (1860-180-2067) or at the main R&LA office, Sector-17, Chandigarh. Further, the facility of maximum 50 tokens each in both Driving License and Registration Branch will be provided to the applicants on first-cum-first serve basis who will visit the R&LA office manually without appointment.     

Chandigarh, 30 th   January, 2018 : 107755 children got immunized during the three day National Immunization Day round Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ in Chandigarh from 28th –  30th January, 2018  to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 years with Oral Polio Drops are successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. Special emphasis was laid upon the high risk/vulnerable areas. Houses will be covered in coming days to track the unimmunized children. Chandigarh, 30 th January 2017: It has been made to appear to Ajit Balaji Joshi, I.A.S., District Magistrate, Chandigarh that the practice of playing loudspeakers during night hours (10:00 P.M. to 06:00 A.M.) is widely prevalent in the U.T., Chandigarh, which is causing annoyance and disturbing the public peace and tranquility. And whereas, Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, I.A.S., District Magistrate, U.T., Chandigarh is of the opinion that in public interest, such practice should not be carried on and therefore, order, that playing of any kind of music/sounds originating from any kind of instrument/appliance/apparatus capable of producing or re-producing sound shall be banned between 10:00 P.M. to 06:00 A.M. in the Union Territory, Chandigarh, for a period of 60 days. This order shall come into force with effect from zero hours on 31.01.2018 and shall be effective for a period of sixty days up to and including 31.03.2018.
