Admission to Class XI in Govt. Senior Secondary Schools of UT, Chandigarh Chandigarh, 10th September 2019:  Education Department, Chandigarh Administration is going to start Humanities Stream only in Evening Shift in two schools i.e. GMSSS-19 and GMSSS-23, Chandigarh.   The students who didn’t get admission in any of the previous four counselling’s (Boys below 45% and Girls below 40% in Humanities only) are hereby informed to fill in the registration form (available on the website of Education Department, Chandigarh Administration i.e. www.chdeducation.gov.in ) and submit the same in either GMSSS-19 or GMSSS-23, Chandigarh on 11 September (Wednesday) and 12 September (Thursday) 2019. It is also to be noted that any migration or change in stream is NOT allowed in this counselling. The students are required to attach photocopy of their detail marks certificate along with the registration from.

Adviser holds 15th meeting of Chandigarh Heritage Conservation Committee

Chandigarh, 9th September 2019: The Chandigarh Heritage Conservation Committee met today at UT State Guest House, Chandigarh, for its 15th meeting.  The Adviser to the Administrator, UT, chaired the meeting. The Committee discussed upon the proposal of Urban Art Policy in Chandigarh put forth by the Director Le Corbusier Centre.  The presentation highlighted importance of public art for rejuvenating the open spaces in Chandigarh and to enhance the beauty of the city.  The proposal showcased primary objectives of displaying public art, modalities for considering proposal of artists and spaces which can be allowed for such display, processes for selection of proposals which shall be considered and approved by the Chandigarh Heritage Conservation Committee. Online system to apply for Need Based Changes and to pay charges under Penalty Scheme

Chandigarh, 9th September 2019: Chandigarh Housing Board has introduced system of online payment of application for Need Based Changes of the allottees of CHB flats. Now the allottees are not required to visit office of the Chandigarh Housing Board and they can visit website of the CHB www.chbonline.in   to apply and pay online under Need Based Scheme and Penalty Scheme for following: 1. For regularization of those existing violations which are covered under Need-Based Changes allowed vide the order No. 59 dated 15.02.2019 and payment of applicable charges 2. For permission of fresh additional construction permitted under Need-Based Changes allowed vide the order No. 59 dated 15.02.2019 and payment of applicable charges. 3. Payment of Annual Penalty Charges to get some time to rectify these violations in conformity with the need based changes orders. Adviser holds meeting to make Chandigarh Plastic Free

Chandigarh, 9th September 2019: A meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Adviser to the Administrator, Sh. Manoj Parida to make Chandigarh plastic free. Senior officials of all the allied departments attended the meeting to participate in this massive drive that has begun on the national level. Hon’ble Prime Minister appealed to all the citizens to make India free from single use of plastic.As a part of 150th Birth Anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi, a state level citizen participation will be encouraged to begin Swachhta hi Seva plastic free India campaign. All the departments have shown keen interest in joining hands to participate and extend their support in making Chandigarh plastic free. Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh inaugurated RIBA exhibition

Chandigarh, 6th September 2019: The prestigious RIBA president’s medal exhibition is an international travelling exhibit that will have a month long home in CCA from 6thSeptember to 9thOctober 2019. This exhibition is brought for the 2nd time to India. Chandigarh owes creation of its architectural identity not only to the RIBA Royal Gold Medal Recipient Le Corbusier, but also to architects Pierre Jeanneret, Maxwell Fry and Jane B. Drew. Both Maxwell Fry and Jane Drew were RIBA members. Fry is also a RIBA Royal Gold Medal recipient. Demolition of fresh un-authorized Constructions/Alterations

Chandigarh, 5th September 2019: The Chandigarh Housing Board demolished two fresh un-authorized constructions in Sector-40 today. One more fresh un-authorised construction in another flat was also scheduled for demolition today but the demolition was taken by the allottee himself prior to the exercise of the CHB. So far the Enforcement Squad of the Chandigarh Housing Board has identified 168 fresh un-authorized Constructions/Alterations and on the site challans have been issued. Action taken in such cases is as under: • 39 structures have already been demolished in Sector-45, Dadumajra, Sector-56, Maloya, Modern Housing Complex Manjimajra and Sector-40.  CHB has issued demand notice for cost of demolitions in 23 cases. In remaining cases demand notice for cost of demolitions will be issued shortly.  The allotttees have been given 10 days time to pay the demand. Chandigarh Inter- School Sports meet for Boys &Girls (under 14 years) Concludes

Chandigarh, 5th September 2019: Chandigarh Inter- School Sports meet for Boys &Girls (under 14 years) organised by Sports Department concluded successfully today. Shri Arun Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary, Home, Chandigarh Administration was the Chief Guest at the valedictory function held at Sports Complex, Sector7, Chandigarh. Competitions were held in 16 sports disciplines and total 2403 players participated in the sports meet. Final bouts of Taekwondo were conducted in the presence of the Chief Guest. The Principal Secretary, Home distributed certificates, and cash prizes amounting to Rs. 1500, 1000 and 750 to winners, runners up and third position holders respectively.
