Automatic Vehicle Location System (AVLS) launch by CTU

Chandigarh, 28 th April, 2017: The Automatic Vehicle Location System (AVLS) Project of CTU was launched today by H.E- Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, Governor Punjab & Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh at Punjab Raj Bhawan. With the launch of the system, Chandigarh Transport Undertaking has taken a step further to bring information technology in its operation. Envisaged in September-2016, the project was completed in January-2017 by the Chandigarh Transport Undertaking. Post which, the project was put on testing for two months. The Project provides the live positioning of all Inter-State Buses (Approx 130 Nos) of CTU. It also gives the Expected Time of Arrival (ETA) for all Bus stops on the way as well as final Destination of the Journey. The expected Time of Departure is also given for all the Bus Stops (including ISBT-17 & ISBT-43) for CTU buses. The calculation of ETA is automatically updated as per Traffic congestion on route. Timings for driving test at Children Traffic Park

Chandigarh, 28 th April, 2017: It is for the information of the General Public that from 01.05.2017 onwards the schedule and timings of the conducting of  test for regular (Non-transport) driving test at Children Traffic Park, Sector-23, Chandigarh will be 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM to 04:00 PM from Monday to Friday and  conducting of test for   regular (Transport) driving test at Circus Ground, Manimajra, Chandigarh will be 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM on Wednesday and Friday only. 

Raid in east jurisdiction

Chandigarh, 25 th  April, 2017:-  A raid was conducted today under the supervision and presence of SDM East Dr Tapasya Raghav , IAS in H2O cafe, SCO 19, Sector 26, Chandigarh. It was found that Hukka was consumed in the cafe illegally. Samples were collected from the cafe and have been sent to CFSL and Drug laboratory for testing.  The team including Dr. Deepak Bakshi, Drug Inspector Sh. Amit Duggal got the ID's collected to all the consumers present, however non were below 18 years of age.  As per Dr Tapasya Raghav , IAS, SDM (east) surprise raids would continue in near future as well to stop the illegal consumption of drugs in the city.

Health Department Celebrates World Malaria Day

Chandigarh, 25 th   April, 2017:  World Malaria Day was celebrated today by Health Department, Chandigarh Administration in the presence of Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary cum Secretary Health, Dr. Rakesh Kashyap, Director Health Services, Dr. Vandana Gupta, Medical Superintendent, area counsellors and other senior officials of Chandigarh Administration. Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary cum Secretary Health, during his address said “We have to work hard to ensure that we reach our target of having no malaria cases by 2018. We have to work with complete dedication to end the disease, and bring the figure to zero. Along with the malaria figures the figures of chikungunya and dengue must also be brought down, thereby reducing the agony midst the residents." He requested the authorities and residents to leave no area unattended in order to ensure that there are no new cases. Demand Survey under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna – “Housing for All” (Urban)

Chandigarh, 24 th   April, 2017:-   Chandigarh Housing Board conducted the Demand Survey under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna – “Housing for All” (Urban) for the EWS, LIG, MIG-I & MIG-II categories, living in urban areas of Chandigarh from 20.03.2017 to 20.04.2017. The application forms,under the scheme were received in the e-Sampark Centres, e-kiosk Sampark Centres, e-Gram Sampark Centres, Chandigarh Housing Board Complex Sector-9, as well as through PMAY-MIS Portal. Due to huge rush witnessed on the last day, the demand survey was extended upto 22.04.2017. Till the closing date of demand survey i.e. upto 22.04.2017,   36,382  application forms have been received physically in CHB apart from   40,524 received online on the PMAY-MIS portal and   45993   through e-Sampark Centres. Thus, cumulatively, 1,22,899 application forms were received till the closing date i.e. 22.04.2017 under the Scheme.
