Malaria Wing Launches two Mobile Applications- Fight the Bite & Field watch

Chandigarh, 20 th  July 2017:  The Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh launched  two mobile based applications developed by the malaria wing of the Health Department of Chandigarh. These applications by the name of Fight the Bite and Field watch are directed towards the community involvement in control of vector borne diseases and other diseases prevalent in Chandigarh. These mobile based applications have been developed by Dr. Gaurav Aggarwal, Anti Malaria Officer and his team under the supervision of the Director Health Services in order to ensure transparency and have community participation. 1.       Fight the Bite  is an application which is basically aimed at taking the community feedback. It has several features like: Suggestions from the community as to how the containment of diseases can be undertaken. AAROGYA VATIKA INAUGURATED

Chandigarh, 19 th July, 2017: It was a special day for the Principal students and staff of GGMSSS18 CHANDIGARH today as Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Hon’ble Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration inaugurated the Aarogya Vatika, prepared by the members of Cassia Eco Club of the school. A green house has also been made to grow and culture plants and these plants will be distributed among the students of the school on various occasions. MASSIVE ANTI RABIES DRIVE IN RURAL AREAS OF CHANDIGARH

Chandigarh, 19 th July, 2017: Working under the presidentship of Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS (Deputy Commissioner), Society for prevention of Cruelty to Animals in coordination with the Department of Animal Husbandry U.T. Chandigarh organized Massive Anti Rabies drive in the villages of U.T. Chandigarh in last two months.                    These camps were held in village Kaimbwala, Behlana, Daria, Raipur khurd, Makhan Majra and Raipur Kalan, Mauli Jagran, Kishangarh, Khuda Alisher, Khuda Lahora & Khuda Jassu and Dhanas from 17 th May, 2017 to 19 th July, 2017. During the camps 745 dogs were vaccinated free of cost against Rabies. Out of which 288 pets and 457 stray dogs vaccinated. On the eve of last camp at village Sarangpur, Capt. Information Regarding Energy Park

Chandigarh, 18 th July, 2017: Department of Science & Technology & Renewable Energy, had established a State Level Energy Park at Botanical Garden Sarangpur for creating awareness among citizens/students regarding various forms of Energy and related concepts. Hitherto, the park was open for general public for 6 days (Mon to Sat) with a weekly off on Sunday. Considering that the footfall at the park is more on the Sunday (being a holiday for all) it has been decided that henceforth the Energy Park, Chandigarh will remain open for visitors on Sundays and a weekly off shall be observed during Tuesdays.
