U.T. Powermen Union to Observe One Day Strike

Chandigarh, 1 st September, 2016:   The U.T. Powermen Union would observe one day strike on 02.09.2016.Chandigarh Administration would enforce ‘No work No Pay” principle, Therefore all the employees are, advised to attend the duty. Necessary arrangements for maintaining the  continuity of power supply though have been made but  chances of failure of power supply due to any untoward incident cannot be ruled out. The Electricity consumers of U.T. Chandigarh are  requested  to kindly co-operate with the Admn. Leprosy Case Detection Campaign

Chandigarh, 1 st September, 2016:     The Department of Health & Family Welfare U.T., Chandigarh is conducting a Leprosy Case Detection Campaign (LCDC) from 5 th – 18 th September 2016 in the targeted areas of the city to detect the hidden Leprosy cases and to spread awareness about the disease. In this regard, a meeting was held on 31.08.2016 under the chairmanship of Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Secretary Health Chandigarh. He emphasized that to eradicate Leprosy, people should come and reveal the disease rather than conceal it so that the treatment can be provided at the earliest. During the campaign, a house to house search activity will be carried out by trained field health workers. A population of around 7 lacs will be covered by 575 teams. The purpose of the campaign is to look for patients having depigmented or hypopigmented patches on the skin along with loss of sensations or deformity in hands or feet. Health cum Screening Camp to be held at Behlana

Chandigarh, 1 st September, 2016:    Chandigarh Health Department is going to organize free Health cum Screening Camp at Village, Behlana on 3 rd September, 2016 (Saturday) from 8.00 AM onwards. This is in continuation of previous Six Health Camps held at Daddu Majra, Maulijagran, Dhanas, Ramdarbar, PHD-25 and Civil Dispensary, Sector 8. Dr. Vanita Gupta, Director Health Services said that the doctors from various specialities like Medicine, Gynae., Skin, Eye , ENT will be examining patients and will be providing free consultation. Health promotion and awareness generation regarding prevention, timely detection and management of Non Communicable Diseases and other diseases will be the main highlight of the screening camp. Chandigarh gets Award for Fund Raising and Membership Running Shield

Chandigarh, 1 st September, 2016:    Under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman Indian Red Cross Society, U.T. Branch, Chandigarh is providing succor to people in distress for decades and continues to uphold the cause of good health for all through its activities. This has been made possible only due to generous contribution from the general public towards noble cause of this Society both in cash and in kind. It is through these contributions that the I.R.C.S., Chandigarh is running/maintaining charitable activities/ projects under the banner of Indian Red Cross Society, U.T. Branch, Chandigarh. To raise the fund of the Society and to make aware the general public about the activities of Red Cross and its Aims and Objectives, the branch had launched a Membership Drive during last year. Release of Child Protection Compendium and Documentary Film

Chandigarh, 30 th  August, 2016:   The Union Territory Child Protection Society (UTCPS) under the aegis of Department Of Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration organized a Programme for Release Of Child Protection Compendium and Documentary Film On Procedures Of Juvenile Justice Act 2015 by  Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator U.T, Shri V.P Singh Badnore who presided as chief guest for the program today, at Tagore Theatre, Sector- 18, Chandigarh. The Program Commenced with the screening of short film “Bhor” on the theme of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao produced by the initiative of Department Of Social Welfare Women and Child Development.
