Reschedule the last date for depositing the fees: Education Department

Chandigarh, 20th May 2020: On the request of parents and keeping in view the situation due to COVID-19, Education Department, Chandigarh Administration directed all the recognized private un-aided schools to reschedule the last date for depositing the fees and funds for the session 2020-21 after one month of the lifting of lockdown. However, lock down was extended a number of times.  During the month of April and May, neighbouring states of Punjab, Haryana and NCT Delhi permitted the private schools to collect tuition fees on monthly basis. Independent School Association and 07 other petitioners challenged order dated 30.03.2020 by filing CWP No. 7338 of 2020. The petitioners pleaded that, for the payment of salary and other expenses, the schools need to collect fees from the students. Due to lockdown, some of the migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons are stranded at Chandigarh.

Chandigarh.17 May,2020: For smooth movement of these persons, the Chandigarh Administration has made elaborate arrangements to ensure comfortable and safe journey through Shramik Special Trains . Two Holding Centres have been set up at ISBT-43. At Holding Centres, the persons are medically examined and they are required to carry the medical certificate throughout the journey. At Holding Centre they were provided packed lunch packet and at Railway Station they were provided packed dinner with one litre water bottle before boarding in assigned coaches. Chandigarh, 16th May 2020: National Dengue Day is observed with the recommendation of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, every year to create awareness about Dengue and to intensify preventive measures and preparedness for the control of disease in the country before transmission season starts. The theme of National Dengue Day 2020 is “Effective Community Engagement:- Key to Dengue Control”. Dengue is a deadly viral disease caused by Dengue Virus (DENV, 1-4 serotypes) which is transmitted by bite of Aedes aegypti infected with any one of the four Dengue Viruses. PUBLIC ADVISORY ON DENGUE

16th May is observed as the National Dengue Day across the country which provides an opportunity to emphasize on transmission prevention, create community awareness and sensitize the stakeholders/partners. This year the National Dengue Day is amidst the COVID-19 crisis and many of our activities like advocacy meetings, rallies, meetings or gatherings are not admissible due to the prevailing situation.
