Chandigarh, 23rd November 2018:  In partial modification of order issued and in compliance of the judgement dated 31.10.2018 of the Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, in the case CM-16484-2018 in CWP-23548-2017, Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, I.A.S., District Magistrate, Chandigarh, exercising the power/authority vested under Section 144 of the Cr.P.C., do hereby orders as following: - 1. The bursting of firecrackers and display of fire-works within the territorial limits of U.T., Chandigarh, shall be allowed between 08:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. only on Diwali or any other festivals. 2. The bursting of firecrackers within the territorial limits of U.T., Chandigarh, shall be allowed for an hour from 04:00 A.M. to 05:00 A.M. and for an hour from 9:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. on Gurpurab(s). 3. Kirron Kher Inaugurates Chandigarh Carnival 2018

Chandigarh, 23rd November, 2018: The most awaited annual event of the City Beautiful, the Chandigarh Carnival 2018 was today inaugurated by Smt. Kirron Kher, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, at leisure Valley Chandigarh in the presence of Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Director Tourism and other officers from Chandigarh Administration and Municipal Corporation.    The Member of Parliament flagged off the Carnival Parade showcasing the  beautiful and creative floats designed by the students of Arts College, CITCO and Chandigarh Tourism (depicting the major tourist spots in Chandigarh), Education Department, Home Science College.  The floats designed on the Gandhi theme had different components depicting the lifestyle of the iconic leader. Sub National Immunization Round to begin from 18th November 2018

Chandigarh, 16th November 2018: The Sub National Immunization Round (SNID), is being held on 18th – 19th November, 2018 for house – to-house visit by the teams throughout Chandigarh in  the high risk/ vulnerable areas like Khuda Lahora, Khuda Jassu, Sarangpur, Resettlement Colony Dhanas, Kaimbwala, Maloya, Daddumajra, Madrasi Colony, Indira Colony, Bapudham, Mauli Village, Vikas Nagar, Manimajra, Colony no 4, Faidan, Hallomajra, Ramdarbar, Attawa, Palsora, Behlana, Raipur Khurd, Kajheri, Kishangarh, Dariya, Tin colony, Janta Colony, Bhagwanpura, Citco, Shastri Nagar and all the construction sites.  The coverage is further enhanced by way of special campaign during Night vigil i.e. Taare Zameen Par being implemented where children are being immunized in the night hours in different parts of the city like railway station, bus stands, streets, showroom corridors etc.  SNID Pulse Polio Campaign is being done nationwide to win the war of eradicating Polio from the so...

Chandigarh, November 19, 2018 : 77,893 children immunized during two days of Sub National Immunization Day (SNID) Polio Round held on 18th and 19th November, 2018 in UT Chandigarh which is higher than the approximate target to immunize 72,405 Children.  Teams visited the vulnerable areas like Khuda Lahora, Khuda Jassu, Sarangpur, Resettlement Colony Dhanas, Kaimbwala, Maloya, Daddumajra, Madrasi Colony, Indira Colony, Bapudham, Mauli Village, Vikas Nagar, Manimajra, Colony no 4, Faidan, Hallomajra, Ramdarbar, Attawa, Palsora, Behlana, Raipur Khurd, Kajheri, Kishangarh, Dariya, Tin colony, Janta Colony, Bhagwanpura, Citco, Shastri Nagar and all the construction sites to immunize the kids with oral pulse polio drops.  Universal Immunization Programme is a flagship programme of Honorable Prime Minister. Nutritional Rehabilitation Centre gets Play Area for Malnourished Children

Chandigarh, 19th November, 2018: Play area for emotional and physical stimulation of the malnourished children being admitted at the Nutritional Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) functional at GMSH 16 has been set up and inaugurated today by Director Health and Family Welfare cum Mission Director NHM.  The play area has been established at NRC GMSH 16 wherein a separate dedicated room has been set up adjacent to children ward. The area comprises of toys and paintings specially designed to promote the physical and mental activities. The walls of the room have been decorated by cartoons, stickers etc with the help of students of School of Nursing GMSH 16 and students of Art College.  Programme Officer RCH cum District family Welfare Officer said that the play area will help in promoting physical activity of the children and may also enhance growth of the children. Sub-National Immunization Round Begins in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, November 18, 2018: 39,742 children were immunized on day one of Sub National Immunization Round (SNID) Polio November 2018. Sub-National Immunization Round (SNID) is scheduled in U.T. Chandigarh on 18th and 19th November 2018. The difference between National Immunization Day (NID) and Sub National Immunization Day (SNID) is that the NID is a three days campaign where day one is dedicated for booth activity and rest two days are dedicated for House – to – House activity while the SNID is a two days House – to – House activity which is being conducted to focus on High Risk areas/ vulnerable areas only.  In the Sub National Immunization Round (SNID), 80 Supervisors monitored the activity for which 600 teams (consisting of 2 members in a team) of vaccinators were deployed to visit House – to – House.
