TRANSPORT(CTU) PRESS RELEASE

Chandigarh.5 June,2020:It is for the information of General Public that Chandigarh Transport Undertaking is planning to start its Long Route Bus Operation from 08.06.2020 onwards subject to permission from Chandigarh Administration from ISBT-43 only. Buses will be operated from point to point i.e. source (Origin) to destination station only with 50% passengers capacity and no boarding/de-boarding of passengers en-route the journey will be allowed. Passengers can book their tickets only through Online Bus Reservation Management System. No night bus service is planned as of now. Further, as a preventive measure to spread the pandemic of COVID-19 following measures will be taken:- 1.Thermal screening will be done at ISBT-43. 2.Buses will be operated with 50% occupancy only. 3.Sanitization of the buses will be done twice at start of trip and end of the trip.

Chandigarh.5 June,2020:It is for the information of general public that the inspection/passing of vehicles in the Sports Complex, Sector 42, Chandigarh will be conducted without appointment w.e.f. 8.06.2020. The timings for the same will be w.e.f. 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM having lunch break 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM till further orders. However, applicants are advised to maintain social distancing while inspection/passing of vehicle as per the guidelines of Govt. of India.

However, desirous applicants are advised to maintain social distancing while giving test as per the guidelines prescribed by the Govt. of India.

Greening Chandigarh Action Plan 2020-21 released

Chandigarh.5 June,2020: The World Environment Day is celebrated on 5 th June every year to create awareness about Environment and to sensitize people towards their duty to preserve and conserve environment. Every year a theme is declared to give attention to specific environmental problem. This year’s theme is ‘Biodiversity’. NOTIFICATION

The Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is pleased to amend the scheme titled as” The Chandigarh Small Flat Scheme, 2006” as under:- The Scheme shall be called “The Chandigarh Small Flat (Amendment) Scheme, 2020. This amendment shall come into operation from the date of issuance of this notification. In the said scheme, Sub Clause (a) of Clause 8 shall be substituted as under:- “8. (a) The house will be allotted on monthly license fee basis with the monthly license fee to be decided by the Nodal Agency and deposited in manner prescribed by Nodal Agency. In case any allottee fails to pay the monthly license fee on time decided by the Nodal Agency, the allottee shall be liable to pay penalty @ 12% per annum to the Nodal Agency on the delayed payment/outstanding dues of rent/license fee in respect of Small Flat/dwelling unit allotted under the Scheme.”

HEALTH DEPARTMENT NOTIFICATION

Whereas the wearing of 3 ply mask or cloth mask has been made compulsory by Chandigarh Disaster Management Authority vide No. 13180/H-III(5)-2020/4422 dated 9 th April, 2020 for all persons moving for whatsoever purpose and under whatever reason/authority in public places, like street, hospital, office and markets. And whereas, it has also been notified that anybody violating these instructions will be punishable under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code (48 of 1860) and the Police Authorities are empowered to immediately arrest the violators. Crime review meeting by Administrator with senior officials

Chandigarh, 3 June 2020: Hon’ble Governor, Punjab and Administrator, Chandigarh Sh. V. P. Singh Badnore held a crime review meeting with senior functionaries of Chandigarh Administration today at the Raj Bhawan. The meeting was attended by the Advisor to Administrator, Principal Secretary (Home), DGP, DIG UT, DIG Traffic & Security and SSP UT, wherein the Hon’ble Governor reviewed the crime pattern of pre and post COVID period and the new initiatives taken by Chandigarh Police. The Governor expressed his concerns over the recent shooting incidents in Chandigarh and directed the Police Department to arrest all the culprits at the earliest. The DGP apprised the Hon’ble Governor about the progress of the investigation of these incidents and the preventive measures that are being taken in the city. Standard Operating Procedure for Hair Salons and Barber-shops during Covid-19

To avoid and pre-empt the spread of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the following will be the guidelines to be followed by all Hair Salon/ Barber-shops operating within the territorial jurisdiction of Union Territory of Chandigarh: 1. All Hair Salon / Barber –shop can be opened. 2. These will be covered under “Non-essential” category of services and will follow all general guidelines issued by Chandigarh Administration from time to time. 3. No Hair Salon / Barber-shop inside Notified Containment Zone/Buffer Zone for COVID-19 shall be allowed to operate. 4. Guidelines for Opening / operating Hair Salon /Barber-shop: A. Whereas vide order No.40-3/2020-DM-1(A), dated 24-03-2020, the Union Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India had issued an order under section 10(2)(1) of Disaster Management Act, stipulating lockdown measures for containment of COVID-19 in the country.
