Administrator’s Open House Grievance Box at Punjab Raj Bhawan

Chandigarh, 1 st  November, 2018: The citizens of UT Chandigarh can now drop in their complaints, grievances and suggestions/feedbacks, in the form of letter, in the newly installed ‘Administrator’s Open House Grievance Box’ kept outside Punjab Raj Bhavan, Sector 6, Chandigarh. This is in addition to the first such ‘Administrator’s Open House Grievance Box’ installed in the U.T. Secretariat at Sector 9, Chandigarh. The grievances of people obtained from the box shall be taken up by the officers of the respective Department on a daily basis and interim status shall be communicated to the complainant. The matter will be taken up by the Hon’ble Administrator for proactive redressal of the grievance with the complainant only if not addressed by the concerned department. Raising Day of Chandigarh Police

Chandigarh, 1st November, 2018:  Chandigarh Police was raised after the declaration of Chandigarh as Union territory on 1st November, 1966. The first Chief of Chandigarh Police was Sh. V.K. Kalia, SSP. The post of IGP was created in the year 1981 and 18 Inspector General’s of Police have been appointed till date. Presently, Sh. Sanjay Baniwal, IPS is the Director General of Police. Food Safety Administration Raids Sweet Shops in Daria, Kishangarh and Baphudham Colony

Chandigarh, 1st November, 2018:  The joint teams of the Food Safety Administration, Health Department, U.T. Chandigarh today conducted raids in the area of villages Daria, Kishangarh and Baphudham colony in U.T. of Chandigarh. The Officers checked the hygienic condition of the shops and manufacturing units selling and preparing sweets. Team seized six samples of sweets made of milk products and issued two challans to the units preparing sweets in unhygienic conditions. Around 2.4quintal of sweets lying in unhygienic condition were destroyed by the team. The Food Business operators are advised to: ➢ Keep premises clean, free from environmental contamination & pest activity. ➢ All raw materials shall conform to FSSAI standards and from FSSAI licensed vendor. ➢ Use Potable water as ingredients ➢ Process all food items at adequate temperature for appropriate time.  Hot food above 600C cold food below 50C ➢ Wash hands before and after handling food and after...

Administrator Inaugurates Run for Unity at Sukhna Lake

Chandigarh, 31 st  October 2018:  Sh. VP Singh Badnore  inaugurated the 'Run for Unity' from Sukhna Lake Chandigarh today to mark the celebrations of ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ (National Unity Day). Hundreds of people participated in this landmark event to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. Present among the galaxy of officers were Sh. Health Department Raids Sweets Shops

Chandigarh, 30th October 2018 : Ahead of festival season, the Food Business Operators are gearing up in preparation and storing of sweets, due to which most of the Sweets shops are now loaded with Diwali sweets. Increasing demand could often lead to some shops compromising on the quality through adulteration. Adulteration of sweets and adding artificial colors to make them more attractive has become a major health concern in the recent days. The Food Safety Administration, Health Department, U.T. Chandigarh launched a special drive by constituting a joint team of Food Safety Officers in whole of U.T Chandigarh. The Officers have been directed to check the hygienic condition of the shops selling sweets and also the manufacturing units. Direction was given to lift samples of sweets specially made of khoya and of milk products and to check the use of non-permitted colours. Chandigarh Housing Board brings SAMADHAAN SHIVIR-- An interface between Officials and Allottees

Chandigarh, 30th October 2018 : In order to assuage the problems faced by the allottees of dwelling units of Chandigarh Housing Board and to resolve pending issues expeditiously,  Chandigarh Housing Board is organizing an interaction, called “SAMADHAAN SHIVIR”,  between the allottees and officials of the board. Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment,Ramdas Athawale Holds Meeting with Officers of Social Welfare Department

Ramdas Athawale, Hon’ble Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India   visited Chandigarh today to discuss the schemes and issues relating to Scheduled Caste, Other Backward Class and Persons with Disability.
