Chandigarh, 19 th  April, 2017: Chandigarh Housing Board has been continuing with the process of conducting Demand Survey under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna – “Housing for All” (Urban) for the EWS, LIG, MIG-I & MIG-II categories, living in urban areas of Chandigarh. Consequently the Administrator, Union Territory Chandigarh is pleased to entrust the additional charge of the post of Principal Government Medical College Hospital sector 32 Chandigarh to Dr. A.K Janmeja Professor and Head Department of Pulmonary Medicine cum Medical Superintendent w.e.f 24 th  April 2017 in addition to his own duties till further orders. Inauguration of Residential Complex for Officers of Income Tax Department

Chandigarh, April 17, 2017:   A residential complex for the senior officers of the Income-tax Department comprising of Type-VI houses in Sector-39B, Chandigarh was inaugurated by the Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore in the presence of Sh. K.C. Jain, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, North-West Region.  Ms. Madhu Mahajan, Director General of Income-tax (Investigation),         Ms. Sunita Puri, Chief Commissioner of Income-tax, Haryana and Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, Advisor to the U.T. Administrator and other officers of the Income-tax Department were also present on the occasion. There was a shortage of suitable accommodation for the senior officers of the Income-tax Department.  The U.T. Administration offered the land to the Income-tax Department in Sector-39B, Chandigarh where 6 one kanal houses have been constructed in record time by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD)...

Culmination of 100 days of Digi Dhan Melas

Police Complaints Authority made Functional

Chandigarh, 17 th   April, 2017:-   Former High court Justice M.S Chauhan,  today joined as the Chairman of the Police Complaints Authority, Chandigarh set up for redressal grievances of the residents regarding complaints against  police official/officer pertaining to death in police custody , grievous hurt as defined in section 320, Indian penal code, Rape or attempt to commit rape, arrest or detention without due process of law, extortion, land/house grabbing or any incident involving serious abuse of authority.  The complaint needs to be accompanied by affidavit and supporting documents and can be presented in person or be dropped in the complaint box. The authority shall hold sittings on every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday however if any of the 3 days happens to be public holiday then Police Complaint Authority shall meet on the next working day. Raid Conducted in Manimajra

Chandigarh, 17 th   April, 2017:-   Under the drive started by SDM East Dr Tapasya Raghav , IAS to check illegal and unhygienic food  units in Manimajra  , a team  of Food Safety Officer Bhaljinder Singh inspected a  bakery making namkeens in shastri Nagar , Manimajra . The factory was found running in unsanitized and unhygienic conditions and was challaned for the same. A total of 5 qtls of namkeen found unfit for human consumption and were destroyed. In addition to this, sweet confectionery articles of approx 4 qtls found prepared in unhygienic condition and stored in residential premises were also destroyed during the drive. As per SDM the drive to check unhygienic conditions would be continued in coming days as well.
