Secretary Education Launched Teachers's Handbook

Chandigarh, 5 th October 2018: Sh. BL Sharma, IAS, Secretary Education launched the Teachers’ handbook based on Learning Outcomes at Elementary level in Hindi, English, Mathematics, EVS, Science & Social Science at UT Guest House today. Total 33 books have been prepared by Samagra Shiksha, Education Department, U.T, Chandigarh. While making the handbook, it has been ensured that the learning needs of students with different learning levels i.e. Pre-Basic, Basic, Proficient & Advanced, are being catered & the academic progress of the student can be monitored. These Handbooks will enable the teachers to inculcate learning skills among the students and will help the teachers to not only focus on teaching learning processes but also will facilitate state functionaries towards ensuring quality education in the schools by monitoring at different levels during random schools visits. Administrator takes Review Meeting of the Administrator’s Advisory Council

Chandigarh, 4 th  October 2018:  A review  meeting  of the   Administrator’s  Advisory   Counc il   meeting  (15 th  June 2018) was held today under the chairmanship of Sh. V.P Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab and Administrator U.T, Chandigarh at Hotel Mount View, Chandigarh. The meeting was attended by the members of ten standing committees of the advisory council and officers of Chandigarh Administration to review the action taken on the recommendations made by standing committees in the last meeting. Standing committee on Education, Sports, Traffic Management, Law and Order, Urban Infrastructure and Social welfare presented their action taken report to the Administrator, whereas the rest of the committees will share their report in the next meeting.  On reviewing the presentations by all the Member Secretaries of the standing committees, Sh. NIL Transaction Charges for Sampark Online Services and BHIM UPI- A New Mode of Payment for Electricity & Water Bills

Chandigarh, 3 rd  October 2018 :   Taking online services to another level by providing convenience and tangible benefits to the public, the Governor Punjab and Administrator Chandigarh, Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore announced the waiving off  MDR charges on online payment on Sampark  portal and also launched a new mode of online payment via Bhim-UPI QR code. Launching these new facilities for the City residents today at Punjab Raj Bhawan , the Administrator said, “ Waiving off the MDR on Internet banking & debit/credit card usage and launching Bhim Upi mode of payment is a substantial move in the current scenario as it will encourage citizens to experience the transactional ease of digital payments which will immensely pay off in the long term”. Chandigarh, 3 rd  October 2018 :    The following draft Notification, which the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh proposes to issue, in exercise of the powers conferred on him under Section 227(1) of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 (as applicable to Union Territory, Chandigarh) read with Clause (zd) of Section 227(2) of the act ibid is hereby published as required under the provision of Act, ibid, for information of all the person likely to be affected thereby.
