Governor launches Digiwings application

Chandigarh 1 st  June 2018:  The Governor of Punjab & Administrator, U.T Chandigarh, Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore today launched the Digiwings application at Raj Bhawan in the presence of Sh.   J.M.  Balamurugan , IAS, Secretary to Governor  and Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, UT, Chandigarh. Digiwings is an Augmented Reality based Digital Experience at Sukhna Lake. Regional workshop on POSHAN Abhiyaan held in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 1st June, 2018: The National Nutrition Mission also known as POSHAN Abhiyaan was approved by Govt. of India in order to address the issue of Malnutrition. POSHAN Abhiyaan was launched on 8 th  March 2018 by the Hon'ble Prime Minister in Distt. Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. The Abhiyaan aims to reduce stunting (2%), under-nutrition (2%), anaemia (3%) (Among young children, women and adolescent girls) and reduce low birth weight (2%) per annum. The target of the mission is to bring down stunting among children in the age group 0-6 years from 38.4% to 25% by 2022. Anti Rabies Vaccination drive-cum-Humane Education Camps in the villages of U.T. Chandigarh

Chandigarh 30 th  May 2018: The Animal Husbandry Department UT Chandigarh has launched a two months mass vaccination-cum-awareness drive against rabies in all villages of U.T. Chandigarh from 30-05-2018 to 08-08-2018 in coordination with Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), Sector-38 Chandigarh. The purpose of organizing camps is to curb the menace of dreadful disease of rabies in animals as well as in human beings.           Capt Karnail Singh, PCS, Director, Department of Animal Husbandry stated, on the occasion of first camp at village Sarangpur, that in these camps Anti Rabies Vaccine shall be administered to every stray or pet dog, free of cost to combat the dreadful disease in rural areas of Union Territory Chandigarh. Surprise anti plastic, epidemic and sanitation raid conducted in East Jurisdiction

Chandigarh 30 th  May 2018:  Under the supervision of Sh.  Arjun Sharma, IAS, Sub Divisional Magistrate(East), U.T, Chandigarh  a team of Sanitary Inspectors has conducted a surprise anti plastic, epidemic and sanitation raid in the  respective area of  transport area Sector 26,   Sector 20, and Sector 29 & 30,    U.T, Chandigarh and issued 03 challans of rupees 200/- 33 challans of rupees 500/- and 04 challans of rupees 5000/- to the defaulters and seized/destroyed  20 k.g  polythene bags/plastic.   

Applications for Vayoshrestha Samman

Chandigarh 29 th  May 2018: The Government of India, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, New Delhi has instituted Thirteen categories for awarding the Vayoshrestha Samman and the Government of India has invited two nominations (maximum) under each category. Chandigarh 29 th  May 2018: The online Prospectus for centralized admissions in Government and Government Aided Colleges for the year 2018-2019 was released today by Sh. B.L. Sharma, IAS, Education Secretary, Chandigarh Administration in the presence of Sh. Yoga Awareness and Ayurvedic Camp

Chandigarh 29 th  May 2018: The Govt. College of Yoga Education & Health, Sector 23-A, Chandigarh has organized a five day Yoga Awareness and Ayurvedic camp in the college premises from 29 th May to 02 June, 2018 (05:15 a.m. to 07:00 a.m.). The opening ceremony of the camp was graced by Sh.
