Launching of Online Joint Prospectus 2021 and 2022

Chandigarh, 6th August 2021: Online Joint Prospectus of Government and Privately Managed Aided Colleges 2021-2022 for the Undergraduate and Post Graduate classes was launched today by Secretary Education, Sh. Sarpreet Singh Gill, IAS, Chandigarh Administration. The portal to fill the admission form will be opening from 10th August 2021 to 18th August 2021 for the applicants seeking admission in first year. The common admission schedule for UG and PG Classes (Centralized and Non-Centralized) will be followed by all the Government and Privately Managed Aided Colleges. The Prospectus sketches out detailed online centralized admission schedule giving important dates and timings. Considering the continuing Covid-19 pandemic situation, the entire process of admission to all the streams has been made online this year as well. World Breastfeeding Week celebrated

Chandigarh, 5th August 2021: World Breastfeeding Week was celebrated today with the theme of "Protect Breastfeeding: A Shared Responsibility" at Anganwadi Composite Building Dadu Majra in the presence of Smt. Nikita Pawar, IAS, Secretary Social Welfare, Women and Child Development, Chandigarh Administration and Smt. Navjot Kaur, PCS, Director Social Welfare Women and Child Development, Chandigarh Administration. The event was held to promote the initiation of breastfeeding within one hour of the birth, followed by exclusive breastfeeding for first six months, and continued breastfeeding for two years or beyond. With the introduction of adequate and appropriate complementary feeding, the children grow healthy and defy the chances of malnutrition. Raising Awareness on HIV-AIDS through Auto-Rickshaws

Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society has adopted an innovative way for creating HIV/AIDS awareness. 100 numbers of Autos have been got fabricated with HIV-AIDS awareness message to move around tricity. Dr. Vanita Gupta, Project Director, Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society informed that this is a pilot project for raising awareness among local city population about HIV-AIDS modes of transmission and prevention and also creating awareness about the free services available in the field of HIV-AIDS. We are encouraging voluntary HIV testing and also trying to create an openness about the disease by speaking about it publically. We think that this awareness campaign would be a big success and will increase the awareness level. I request people to come forward and get themselves tested for HIV which is free and confidential. This service is available in all Government Health Institutes.

LAUNCH OF BRUCELLOSIS PROGRAMME UNDER NATIONAL ANIMAL DISEASE CONTROL PROGRAM IN U.T. CHANDIGARH

Chandigarh.4th August,2021:The first round of Brucellosis vaccine under National Animal Disease Control Program (NADCP) has been launched by the Department of Animal Husbandry & Fisheries in U.T. Chandigarh today at village Maloya. On the occasion Sh S.S. Gill,IAS, Secretary Animal Husbandry & Fisheries told that National Animal Disease Control Program (NADCP) is Central Govt. Scheme for eradication of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) and Brucellosis in livestock. The aim of the program is to control the livestock disease by 2025 and eradicate these by 2030. The program aims at vaccinating over 21000 livestock of Chandigarh free of cost which includes Cattle, Buffalo, Sheep, Goats and Pigs against FMD and all bovines female calves against the brucellosis disease.
