Field activities for Prevention & Control of Dengue

Chandigarh, 15 th  September, 2016:  With the onset of Dengue season, the Malaria Wing of Health Department Chandigarh Administration has geared up Field activities for Prevention & Control of Dengue. The major source of breeding has been found to be the coolers and in house containers. It was also observed during the field analysis that the cases of Dengue are isolated cases and there is no clustering. Till now more than 436 cases of dengue has been diagnosed in the health centres located in Chandigarh. Out of these 112 confirmed cases are residents of UT-Chandigarh (till the release of press note) which have been diagnosed as Dengue fever at various government and private laboratories. Four case of Chickengunya has also been detected at Chandigarh but no fresh case has been detected. Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Sh. JP Nadda Launches AMRIT Pharmacy, Advanced MRI Machine at GMCH-32

Chandigarh, 10 th September, 2016 : Hon’ble Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda was in the City Beautiful today to inaugurate the 1.5 Tesla MRI, 64 Slice CT and Digital Radiography System at GMCH, Sector-32. The Union Minister also inaugurated AMRIT (Affordable Medicine and Reliable Implants for Treatment) pharmacy , an affordable place for buying medical appliances like stents, implants and generic drugs. Smt. Kirron Kher , Member of Parliament, U.T., Chandigarh, Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home secretary cum SMER ,Sh. Visit of Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Sh. JP Nadda to Government Rehabilitation Institute for Intellectual Disabilities (GRIID)

Chandigarh, 10 th September, 2016 : Hon’ble Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, Sh. J.P. Nadda visited and interacted with special children and students of the Government Rehabilitation Institute for Intellectual Disabilities (GRIID), Sector-31, Chandigarh today. On his visit, various activities carried out at  GRIID were observed and appreciated, which includes Special Education Training, Vocational Training, Human Resource Development Programmes and daily OPD clinic for intellectual and developmental disabilities which includes Physiotherapy Unit, Occupational Therapy Unit, Facilitation services Unit, Special Education Clinic and sensory Integration Therapy Unit. Chandigarh, 10 th September, 2016: The Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development Chandigarh Administration organized a socio- economic medical camp in association with the Senior Citizens Association at Government Model High School Dhanas Rehabilitation Colony today. Drive by Health Department to Screen the Population for Non Communicable Diseases Continues

Chandigarh, 10 th September, 2016: Chandigarh Health Department in collaboration with Chandigarh Transport Undertaking organized a free Health cum Screening Camp at Chandigarh Transport Undertaking Workshop, Industrial Area, Phase - 1, Chandigarh today under the leadership of Dr. Vanita Gupta, Director Health Services and Sh. Amit Talwar, PCS, Director Transport, Chandigarh Administration. This camp was organized specifically for employees working under CTU. This was the eighth Health organized by the Chandigarh Health Department. The previous camps were held at Civil Dispensary- Daddu Majra, Maulijagran, Dhanas, Ramdarbar, Public Health Dispensary- Sector 25, Civil Dispensary-Sector 8 and Village Behlana, Chandigarh.
