National Conference on Prevention of Rabies & Stray Dog Management on Sept.28

Chandigarh, 26 th   September 2019:-  The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh is going to organize a one day National Conference on Prevention of Rabies and Stray Dog Management at Hotel Mountview, sector 10 on 28 th  September, 2019. While sharing about this initiative during Press Conference at UT Guest House here today, Sh. Sanjay Kumar Jha, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh said that Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab & Administrator, UT, Chandigarh will inaugurate the Conference at 11.00 am. He said that this will be a first of its kind National Conference on this sensitive public concern. Inspection of Capitol Complex installation of sculpture by Adviser

26th September 2019: The Adviser to the Administrator Sh. Manoj Parida visited the Capitol Complex today to inspect the installation of sculpture designed by Le Corbusier. Sculptures will be built on pedestal on the theme “ End of British Empire and the Freedom Struggle” for which the stones will be imported from Rajasthan.   Further on the existing ramp there will be inscriptions carved in stone for which suggestions from public will be invited.   The budget of this entire project is Rs 1 Crore.   Secretary, Cultural Affairs has been made the nodal officer for this project. Present among senior officers were Principal Secretary Home, Finance Secretary, Chief Architect, Chief Engineer, Chairman Chandigarh Lalit Kala Academy.

Low Price Onion Stalls at  five Community Centres

Chandigarh.26th September,2019.The Department of Food & Supplies and Consumer Affairs & Legal Metrology, U.T., Chandigarh has opened Low Price Stalls at the five Community Centres from 26.09.2019. Total 7.5 Quintal of onions were sold till 04:00 p.m. @ Rs. 32/- per kg at all the following five designated Community Centres of U.T., Chandigarh located at: M.H.C, Manimajra   Dhanas   Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran   Ramdarbar   Maloya In the Coming days, the quantity of onion will also be increased to meet out the demand of the general public. The whole process of selling the onions at controlled prices for general public was successful as good response was received from the masses. The department would continue to sell the onion at controlled rate to provide respite to the general public from the soaring prices of onion till the same comes under control. Two joint teams of Food Safety Officers for the enforcement of the Food Safety

Chandigarh, 26th September 2019: The Health Department Chandigarh has setup two joint teams of Food Safety Officers for the enforcement of the Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006 during coming festive season. Two teams will work round the clock to check any violation of quality and hygiene standards of food material. A 24x7 helpline (0172-2782457) has been setup for taking up the complaints of general public. Public is requested to purchase the sweet meat items and confectionery items from Licensed /Registered food vendor only. In case of any grievances the compliant can be made on the helpline Number.

Chandigarh Administration to ensure selling of Onion on “No Profit No Loss Basis” – V.P. Singh Badnore

Chandigarh, 25 th September, 2019:   The Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Shri V.P. Singh Badnore today directed the Chandigarh Administration to ensure selling of Onions on "No Profit No Loss Basis".   Addressing a meeting of senior officers of Chandigarh Administration, the Governor expressed concern over the high prices of onions. Shri Badnore instructed the Food and Supplies Department to purchase onions on whole sale price and sold on No Profit No Loss Basis. People will get some relief from this initiative of the Administration, he added.   Shri Badnore also asked the officers of the Food and Supply Department to evolve five clusters at Mauli Jagran, Dhanas, Maloya, Ram Darbar and Manimajra Community Centres where the Counters will be set up from tomorrow for the hassel free supply of onions. Administrator reviews Restoration Work of Government Buildings in Sector 17 and Coversion of Government Press Building into Museum for Heritage Furniture

Chandigarh, 25th Sepetember 2019: A meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Sh. VP Singh Badnore, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT, Chandigarh in the presence Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator, Sh. J M Balamurugan, Secretary to Governor and other senior officials of Chandigarh Administration. The Administrator reviewed the progress of various works being undertaken by Engineering Department in Sector 17, Chandigarh. He has directed to expedite the work relating to the restoration work of   Government buildings in Sector 17 i. e 30 Base Building, 17 Base Building, Town Hall Building, Additional Town Hall Building, Library, Northern and Southern Plaza, private buildings etc. The Administrator has also decided that rehabilitation work of Government Press Building should also be started on priority basis, so that the same can be converted into a Museum for Heritage Furniture, Vintage Cars etc.

Awareness Camp on importance of Nutrition for TB patients

Chandigarh.25 th Sep, 2019:- “TB Harega Desh Jetega with Pura Course of TB treatment and proper nutritional support ” said by Dr. G.Dewan, Mission Director cum Director Health Services Chandigarh while distributing Nutritional supplement to   MDR-TB and TB patients at Civil Dispensary, Ramdarbar Chandigarh. He also announced Govt. of India’s Notification of providing Rs. 500/- to every TB patient per month till completion of treatment. Govt. of India is observing this   month as Poshan Mah i.e. Nutritional Month, in view of this Chandigarh Health Department in collaboration with Rotary Midtown created awareness amongst general public as well as TB patients regarding importance of diet specially patients suffering from Tuberculosis   for rapid recovery.
