Aajeevika Diwas Celebration

Chandigarh, 5 th May 2018: Under, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India, New Delhi, Gram Swaraj programme,  Aajeevika Diwas was celebrated today at Govt. Industrial Training Institute Sector 28 C Chandigarh. Shri Sachin Rana, IAS, Director-cum-Special Secretary, Technical, UT Chandigarh Administration was the Chief Guest on this auspicious occasion. Two Days Northern Region Review Workshop

Chandigarh, 5th May 2018 :  A two days Northern Region Review workshop started on 4th May 2018 at Hotel Mount View, Chandigarh which was attended by Senior Officers of the Education Departments NCT of Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, HP, J&K, Punjab, UP, Uttrakhand and Rajasthan. The workshop was presided over by Sh. Anil Swarup, secretary (School Education & Literacy), MHRD, and was attended by a team of Officers from MHRD, Principals Secretaries / Secretaries of participating states and UT’s, State Project Directors, SCERT Directors, Professors from NCERT, Consultants and Faculty from SCERTs. Government Museum and Art Gallery to celebrate it's 50th anniversary

Chandigarh, 5th May 2018:  To celebrate 50th anniversary on 6th May, the Government Museum and Art Gallery is going to open up its space for children and families with fun environment. There will be age appropriate gallery activities sheets and games which will support open ended exploration, imaginative learning and deep engagement - all designed to make it a memorable immersive learning experience.  These shall be combined with gallery walks by curators, guides and conservators.  There will be a special walk by Medhavi Gandhi of the Heritage Lab on “Secrets of the Chandigarh Museum” at 3.30 pm. Other fun activities will be a potter’s wheel on which children and visitors can work hands-on. There will also be a painting competition for children above 7 years where they can explore the theme “My museum turns 50” with unlimited interpretation. State level Cooking competition under World Skill Competition 2018

Chandigarh, 5th May 2018:  Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management Catering and Nutrition, Sector 42-D, Chandigarh, an autonomous body under Ministry of tourism , GOI, organized State level Cooking competition under World Skill Competition 2018. The grand finale of the World Skill Competition is scheduled to be held in 2019 at Kazan, Russia. For increasing the awareness, the Skill Development Ministry has tied up with all states and UTs' Skill Development departments for the same. Out of 50 odds disciplines of the competition, Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Hotel Management, Chandigarh is collaborating with UTCSDM for the said cooking competition. This was open to all the residents of Chandigarh born after 01-01-1997. Two Day Northern Region Review Workshop( Education) began today

Chandigarh, 4 th  May 2018:  A two day workshop (4 th -5 th  May 2018) - Northern Region review was hosted by Department of Education, Chandigarh Administration at Hotel Mount View today.  Secretaries and representatives of different states like Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Gujrat, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana attended the workshop. Sh. Child Beggar Rescue

Chandigarh, 3 rd  May 2018 :  District Child Protection Society under the aegis of District Magistrate/Collector, Chandigarh Administration organized a Child  Beggar rescue drive  at  traffic light points sector 34/35, Elante Mall , traffic lights of Sector 34/ 33/ 22 ,  and near sector  20 Jama Mazjid  Chandigarh. A total of 6 children ( 3 boys and 3 girls )  were rescued in the drive, who  have been provided with temporary shelter  after filing of DDR and medical checkup with orders of Child Welfare committee until further enquiry may be conducted to assess the background of children and their families. Out of 6 children 4 Children have been rescued from the Jama Mazjid sector 20 at 2:00 PM under the Category of Child beggary and 2 Children were rescued from the Elante Mall at 8:00 PM. Chandigarh, 2 nd May 2018: The Animal Husbandry Department U.T. Chandigarh organised an ‘ANIMAL HEALTH CAMP AND KISAN GOSTHI’ today at village Khuda Lahora, U.T. Chandigarh on the eve of “Farmers Welfare Day”(Kisan Kalyaan Diwas)   The Camp was presided over by Capt Karnail Singh, Director Animal Husbandry. In his address he appealed the farmers to adopt scientific practices of Animal Husbandry by keeping quality animals to increase their income. 65th Annual Prize distribution function of PGGC 11 celebrated

Chandigarh, 2 nd  May 2018:  The 65th Annual Prize giving function of PGGC 11 was celebrated with great fervour and zeal. Sh. 1050 students awarded degrees during MCM Annual Convocation

Chandigarh, 30 th April 2018 : Celebrating 50 years of its continued excellence in education, MCM DAV College for Women hosted its Annual Convocation today. Jubilation marked the ceremony as over 1050 graduates and postgraduates received their degrees during the ceremony. Sh.
