Press Conference of Chandigarh Carnival 2016 and Chandigarh Cyclothon.

Chandigarh, 23 th November, 2016 : A joint press conference was organized today by the Department of Tourism, Chandigarh Administration chaired by Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary cum Secretary Tourism in regard to the Chandigarh Carnival 2016 and the 5 th Edition of the Chandigarh Cyclothon. The Chandigarh Carnival 2016 themed ‘Fantasy’ will be inaugurated on 25 th November by the Adviser to the Administrator, U.T Chandigarh Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS. The carnival will be organised from 25 th November to 27 th November.  The three days extravaganza will showcase performances by famous Bollywood and Punjabi singers like Babbu Mann, Himesh Rashamiya and Neeraj Shridhar. Order U/s 133 Cr. PC, 1976 by the District Magistrate, U.T Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 23 rd November, 2016: It has been made to appear to Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, District Magistrate, U.T., Chandigarh that some members of the public/Unions have been climbing on the mobile towers, which are installed at various places in union Territory, Chandigarh, by the Telecom Companies, in order to seek public attention for acceptance of their demands. As such, there is every apprehension that such kind of incident will cause disturbance of the public peace/law & order and tranquility leading to danger of human life.   Sh. Calculation of compensation for the land owners

Chandigarh, 23 rd November, 2016: In exercise of the powers conferred by Serial No. 2 of the First Schedule appended to the “ Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (E) dated 09.09.2016, the Administrator, Chandigarh Administration, Chandigarh hereby specifies that for the calculation of compensation for the land owners, the market value to be calculated by the Collector, Chandigarh as per sub-section (1) of Section 26 of the aforesaid act shall be multiplied by a factor of 1.25 on all rural lands falling with the U.T. of Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, 23 rd  November, 2016:  Today 1 fresh cases of Dengue has been reported and the total number of Dengue cases remained 860 in the city. 4 cases of Chikungunya have been reported today out of which all were from Chandigarh. The overall details of 270 cases of Chikungunya detected in Chandigarh is; 46 imported, 55 wrong address and 169 from Chandigarh. To further strengthen the preventive activities, daily fumigation is being carried out alongwith strengthening of field activities which includes mass awareness, checking of breeding sources like coolers, containers, tyres and other sources. Chandigarh, 20 th November, 2016: Today 4 cases of Dengue have been reported from various health institutions (till the release of press note) which bring the total number of Dengue cases to 856 in the city. 5 cases of Chikungunya have been reported today out of which all were from Chandigarh. The overall details of 258 cases of Chikungunya detected in Chandigarh is; 46 imported, 55 wrong address and 157 from Chandigarh. Solar Power Camp held at Community Centre, Sector 21

Chandigarh, 20 th November, 2016 : Today at a ‘Solar Power Camp’ organized at Community Centre of Sector 21, the residents and office bearers of Citizens Association, Sector 21, promised to install 100 kW solar power generation systems at rooftops of residential houses and commercial establishments. This solar power camp was organized jointly by Citizens Association, Sector 21, FOSWAC, Chandigarh, Renewable Energy Science and Technology Promotion Society (CREST) & Yuvsatta-an NGO. And over 200 active residents of Sector 21 participated in the initiative.
