Inauguration of ‘Srijan’: showroom of products made by Inmates of Model Jail, Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 21st February 2019: Furniture and various other items made by the inmates of Model Jail, Chandigarh is very popular in Chandigarh city. In order to provide better recognition and commercial space to products made by the inmates of Model Jail Chandigarh, Prison Administration has been participating in various trade-fairs and Melas being organized from time to time.  The Administration has already launched an on-line portal for sale of Jail products for the members of civil society of tri-city. Prison Administration was allotted a showroom SCF No. 05-06 in the year 2010 in posh Sector-22 Market. The ground floor of the complex has been renovated and converted into a showroom for exclusive display of all the products made by inmates of Model Jail. Review meeting held regarding General Elections to Lok Sabha-2019

Chandigarh, 21st February, 2019: Review meetings were held today under the chairmanship of Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, IAS, Additional Chief Electoral Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh, with the representatives of Political Parties, in charges of cinema halls and cable operators in Chandigarh. The agenda of the meetings was to enlighten the gathering about the special camps which will be organised on 23rd & 24th February, 2019 by the Election Commission in each polling station. The aim of these special camps is to facilitate all unregistered, eligible persons to get their names registered in the electoral rolls and correction or verification of the details of registered voters names and address, so that the correct and updated information can be added in each voters Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) and no eligible voter is deprived of voting during the General Elections to Lok Sabha-2019. Adviser meets children with special educational needs at SOREM

Chandigarh, 20 th  February, 2019:  The Adviser to the Administrator, U.T Chandigarh, Sh. Manoj Parida, IAS, as the Chairman of the Governing Council (officer bearers) of SOREM, today visited the School for Special Children at Sector 36, Chandigarh. SOREM is an NGO, in the service of people with Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Intellectual Disability, which began in 1987 and has evolved continuously. Sh. Parida on his visit reviewed the various facilities provided at the school and interacted with the special children. Presently there are 150 plus special children undergoing various training with the school namely vocational training on embroidery, stitching, Block Printing, Paper Bag, Jewellery, Candle, Masala and Chocolate, along with Rehab Therapies of Physio, Sensory Integration, Computer Training, Speech, Vocal & Instrumental Music, Occupational and Yoga. 12-day Stone Sculpture Workshop concludes today

Chandigarh, 18 th February, 2019: The closing ceremony of the “Stone Sculpture Workshop” was organized today by the Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi for the Tricity Sculptors with Guest Artists at the Museum Outreach Activity Centre, sector 10, Leisure Valley, Chandigarh. Health App “KnowMyHealth” launched by the Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 18 th February, 2019: The Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh, Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore today launched a Health App “KnowMyHealth” developed by M/s DejaVu Health Technology Solution in presence of Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, IAS, Principal Secretary Health, Sh. Sanjay Beniwal, IPS, Director General of Police, Sh. Prem Bhandari of M/s DejaVu Health Technology Solution; and Dr. G. Dewan, Director Health Services-cum-Mission Director NHM. This app would be helpful in lifelong storage of patient health record across all health institutions both in Government as well as of Private sector. The app can be downloaded by any patient and health profile can be uploaded by both the patients through app or through the integration of patient data by the concerned hospital. International Regional Programme on Entrepreneurship in Technical and Vocational Education and Training begins at NITTTR, Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 18 th February, 2019: A one week International Regional Programme on Entrepreneurship in Technical and Vocational Education and Training was inaugurated today by Sh. Manoj Parida, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, U.T Chandigarh . The programme is being conducted jointly by Colombo Plan Staff College, Manila, Philippines and National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh from 18-22 February 2019 at NITTTR, Sector 26, Chandigarh . A total of 2 0 International Delegates from 10 Countries of Asia and Pacific Region are participating in the Programme. In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest Sh.
