Chandigarh, 14 th October, 2016: Today 17 cases of Dengue has been reported from various health institutions which includes 10 new cases and 7 confirmed amongst probable cases(till the release of press note)which brings the total number of Dengue cases to 595 in the city.4 fresh cases of Chickungunya have been reported by GMCH 32 and PGIMER. The details of 92 cases of chickungunya detected in Chandigarh is; 29 imported, 25 wrong address and 38 from Chandigarh. Chandigarh, 14 th October, 2016: As per the order of Commissioner Food Safety, a joint team of Food Safety Officers Sh. Bharat Kanojia, Sh. Surinder Pal Singh & Sh. Bhaljinder Singh was constituted in lieu of the coming festival season for conducting inspection and sampling of food articles in UT of Chandigarh. On 14-10-2016 the team inspected area of Sector 18, Shanti nagar, Pipliwala Town, Mariwala Town of Manimajra, Chandigarh and seized three samples of different sweets. The said seized samples have been sent to the Food Analysis Laboratory for analysis & examination. Two improvement notices were also issued to these shops for not maintaining the hygienic conditions. About 130 kgs of sweets were destroyed which were found exposed to dust & flies and were unfit for human consumption.  The FBOs were also advised not to use any prohibited colours in the preparation of sweets and to use good quality of edible oil and ghee in their preparations.   The Food ...

Chandigarh, 10 th October, 2016: A workshop on Food Safety Awareness for Food Business Operator dealing in business of sweets manufacturing, wholesale/ retail sale, was organised on dated 10-10-2016 at Village Manimajra, by the Department of Food Safety and Standards, Chandigarh Administration. Food Business Operators were made aware about various provisions of Food Law and were guided how to maintain good hygiene and sanitation in the workplace. A joint team of Food Safety Officers Sh. Bharat Kanojia, Sh. Surinder Pal Singh and Sh. Bhaljinder Singh inspected various sweet shops in villages Dhanas, Khudda Jassu, Khudda Ali sher and seized samples of sweets. The team also raided one of the Edible oil Packaging unit situated in Industrial Area-I, Chandigarh and seized samples of different oil brands.

Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector-16, Chandigarh and its allied dispensaries including Ayush Dispensaries, Civil Hospital Manimajra, Civil Hospital Sector-22, Chandigarh and Poly Clinic, Sector-45, Chandigarh (ESI Dispensaries-29 & ESI-23, U.T., Sectt., Punjab & Haryana Sectt. and High court Dispensaries) will be revised to 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM from 16 th October to 15 th April 2017. The timings of ESI Dispensaries-29 & ESI-23, U.T., Sectt., Punjab & Haryana Sectt. and High court Dispensaries will remain as before.
