Conference for Kerosene Free City

Chandigarh, 18 th March, 2016 : One day Conference was held today on Making Chandigarh a ‘Kerosene Free City’ organized by the Department of Food & Supplies and Consumer Affairs & Legal Metrology, U.T., Chandigarh at the Conference Hall, U.T., Guest House, Chandigarh. Raid in Grain Market

Chandigarh, 18 th March , 2016 : In the presence and guidance of  Sh. Chandigarh, 18 March, 2016: The staff of CITCO today met at Hotel Shivalikview, Sector 17, and expressed their feelings about the recent incidents that occurred at Hotel Mountview with regard to wrong billing, disclosing information to the outsiders and consuming unauthorized food in the guest area by some of the staff members. Flag Off of Spirit of India Run

Chandigarh, 18 March, 2016: Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. Parimal Rai , IAS today flagged off Mr. Pat Farmer’s Spirit of India Run in the presence of Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration Sh. Bhupesh Chaudhary, IAS, Director Sports, Chandigarh Administration, officials from Department of Tourism, Department of Sports Department and students of AIHM and CIHM at Sukhna Lake. Mr. Pat Farmer was overwhelmed with the warmth and love of Chandigarh Administration and citizens of Chandigarh to support him at every step for the noble cause during his run through Chandigarh as part of Spirit of India Run. First Transfer Of Commercial Property

Chandigarh, 18 March, 2016:  The Chandigarh Housing Board vide its 392 nd Board Meeting held on 02.9.2015 has launched “Tatkal Service” for all transfer cases of residential property by charging an amount of Rs.50,000/-, Rs.40,000/-, Rs.30,000/- & Rs.20,000/- under HIG, MIG, LIG & EWS Categories respectively. Further, the Chandigarh Housing Board vide its 394 th Board Meeting held on 22.12.2015 decided to extend the ‘Tatkal’ Service facility to the allottees of commercial property by charging an amount of Rs.1,00,000/- for convenience shops/small booths and Rs.2,00,000/- for bay shops/Shop-cum-Flats.  In the four decade old history of CHB, the first commercial property i.e. Booth No.17, Sector 49-A, Chandigarh has been transferred under Tatkal Service today on 18.3.2016. Capacity Building of Holistic Skill Enhancemen

Chandigarh, 18 March, 2016: The final day of the faculty development programme on Capacity Building of Holistic Skill Enhancement was held today in Government Home Science College, Sector-10, Chandigarh about developing interpersonal effectiveness and the role of teachers in dealing with emotional problems of youth. CHB conversion of Sites & Services Policy

Chandigarh, 17 March, 2016 : The Chandigarh Housing Board is formulating a policy with regard to conversion of Sites & Services in KP-II, Ram Darbar Colony from License System to Long Term Lease/Free Hold Basis.                    It is stated that the Chandigarh Housing Board, Chandigarh has allotted Sites & Services in Rehabilitation Colony, Karsan Phase-II, Ram Darbar with raised structure i.e. Plinth of front room and structure of W.C. & Bath, on lease for a period of 5 years on monthly rent basis on the recommendations of the Estate Office, U.T., Chandigarh.  However, it has come to the notice of CHB that neither the license has been renewed nor the policy/scheme for conversion of allotment of license of Sites & Services into allotment of one room tenements has been framed with the result that the issue regarding allotment of one room flats to the license holders ...

Chandigarh, 17 March, 2016 : The Chandigarh administration today welcomed, Ultra Marathon Runner from Australia, Mr. Pat Farmer. On his arrival Mr. Pat Farmer and his team were welcomed with a garland and bouquet by Sh. Bhupesh Chaudhary, IAS, Director Sports, Chandigarh Administration, Sh. Bharti Tyagi, Principal, AIHM, along with officials of Tourism, Sports Department and students of AIHM and CIHM. Transparency in the processing of applications for transfer of properties

Chandigarh, 16 th March, 2016:  In order to streamline and ensure transparency in the processing of applications for transfer of properties and other related references and also to enhance the confidence of the general public in the delivery of services by CHB, it has been decided to follow the principle of FIFO i.e. First in and first out in all non-Tatkal cases.  The applications for transfer of properties and all other references shall be processed strictly on this principle and no reference/recommendation shall be considered by the dealing assistant for out of turn processing.  Accordingly, pending list of applications and other references, dealing assistant-wise i.e. in the Recovery Branch, Accounts Branch and other branches of the CHB on the basis of seniority list (as per date of submission of application/reference) shall be uploaded on the website of CHB www.chbonline.in and shall also be displayed on the notice board in Block ‘C’ of Administration Block of th...

Allotment of retail sale liquor Vend (L-2/L-14A Licences)

Chandigarh, 15 th March, 2016:  The Excise Policy, 2016-17 was approved by the Chandigarh Administration at the end of the month of February, 2016. In the Policy, the allotment of retail sale liquor licences (L-2/L-14A) is a major activity as the department gets major part of the excise revenue from the retail sale liquor licenses, directly in the form of licence fees and indirectly in the form of various excise levies. This allotment of retail sale liquor licenses is an annual affair. In the Excise Policy, 2016-17, the reserve price of all the retail sale liquor vends, which were to be allotted in 48 groups having 100 retail sale liquor vends (L-2/L-14A), was kept at Rs. 177.71 crores which is equal to the last year’s bid money received over all the groups and was Rs. 42.71 crores higher than the last year’s reserve prices of all these groups, which stood at Rs. 135 crores. Chandigarh Housing Board's 395th & 396th Board meetings

Chandigarh, 15 th March, 2016: The Chandigarh Housing Board vide its 395 th & 396 th Board meetings has decided to waive off the condition of lock-in-period with respect to General Self Financing Housing Scheme-2008, Sector-63, Chandigarh in the exercise of its powers under Regulation 50 of the Chandigarh Housing Board (Allotment, Management and Sale of Tenements) Regulations, 1979. As such, the transfers of properties allotted under this scheme are allowed under the different policies of Chandigarh Housing Board. It is further clarified that the property rights transferred under the GPA transactions, are hereby ordered to be regularized under the GPA Policy of CHB, whether the CHB has released the possession of the property or not. In case, the possession is not released to the allottee, then, the possession will be released to the purchaser after regularization of the GPA transaction.

Food Inspection in Panjab University

Chandigarh, 14 th March, 2016:  As per the action plan prepared by Dr. Rajinder K. Sharma, Designated Officer I/c Food Safety Administration, Chandigarh Health Department, Chandigarh. Sh. Bharat Kanojia, Food Safety Officers today inspected the various eateries situated at Student Centre, Panjab University, Sector 14, Chandigarh and five samples of Shahi Mutter Paneer, Prepared Rajmah, Prepared Channa, Veg. Fried Rice and Papaya Shake were taken for analysis & examination and two improvement notices have been issued. The Food Business Operators were instructed to adhere to the norms of Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006 and Rules, 2011.
