Education Program

Chandigarh, 23 rd February, 2017: Working under the able guidance of Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh-cum-President, SPCA-Chandigarh is touching new heights in the field of Animal Welfare every day.  In continuation of the process of animal welfare, SPCA with the co-ordination of Animal Husbandry Department Chandigarh started Human Education Program. On 23 rd February, 2017 SPCA organized a visit of students of Oakridge International School at SPCA premises.  Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Veterinary Officer, Manimajra educated these students about animal rights and also gave them the guidance regarding protection from aggressive dogs and how to avoid dog bite.                    They were also educated about objectives of SPCA and its motives and future plans.  Students were made aware about the deadly zoonotic diseases like rabies.     ...

Jaspal Bhatti Humor Festival

Chandigarh, 23 rd February, 2017: The city that Jaspal Bhatti loved is playing host to celebrate his vision and legacy by organizing the‘Jaspal Bhatti Humor Festival 2017’. The Department of Cultural Affairs, Chandigarh Administration will be bringing in big names in comedy to perform in the Fest to be held on 3 rd , 4 th and 5 th March at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh from 6.30-9 pm daily. Announcing this at a press conference at the UT Guest House, Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Director, Department of Cultural Affairs said that the city had to pay its tribute to the master satirist in a special way. Last year it had been decided that every year on 3rd March, which is Mr Bhatti’s birthday, the Administration would organize a humor festival. This year the Festival would run for three days, the first day is dedicated to Punjabi comedy, the second to English and the third day to Hindi. Commercial properties for e-auction

Chandigarh, 22 nd February, 2017: Chandigarh Housing board has initiated the process of e-auction of Residential lease hold/free hold and Commercial lease hold properties w.e.f 1.2.2017 and this process is still going on. In order to continue this on going process of e-auction of commercial properties (Lease hold basis), the Chandigarh Housing Board is going to offer 127 Commercial properties for e-auction w.e.f 22.2.2017 at 3:00 P.M. Prize distribution ceremony of State level Kala Utsav

Chandigarh, 21 st February, 2017: Prize distribution ceremony of State level Kala Utsav (an initiative under RMSA) was held today in Tagore Theatre. Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration was the Chief Guest of the occasion. The occasion also marked the presence of Director School Education, Dy. State Project Director SSA, Dy. State Project Director RMSA, Dy. Director Adult Education, District Education Officer, Dy. District Education Officer, Principals of the schools, Parents, Officers and other dignitaries. 114 students from 12 schools were given away prizes through cheques, trophies and certificates. Schools that won 1 st position was awarded Rs. 1500/- per student, Rs. 1200/- who won 2 nd position and 3 rd position holder’s got Rs. 1000/- per student. Launch of e-Awas portal and new citizen centric services

Chandigarh, 20 th February, 2017: With an aim to bring transparency and enable hassle free allotment of Government Houses, the Administrator U.T Chandigarh, H.E. Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, today launched the e-Awas portal (http://eawas.chd.gov.in) which would enable online submission of applications by employees and also facilitate allotment of vacant houses through a bidding system. He also launched 4 citizen centric services - Registration for Widow Pension, Registration for Old Age Pension, Registration for Disabled Pension and Permission for Events. Raid Conducted

Chandigarh, 19th February, 2017:  Under the Supervision of Dr. Tapasya Raghav, IAS, SDM east, a raid was conducted by the team of Food safety officer Bhaljinder Singh on Bakeries running in Manimajra, Chandigarh. During the drive, a Mathi bakery was found running in at 93/32 Gobindpura, Manimajra without license. A challan has been issued to owner Atik Ahmed on the spot for running bakery without having a FSSAI licence.  In addition to this, a legal sample was taken of maida being used to prepare Mathis and has been sent to lab. Buns and Fen were also destroyed at other two bakeries running in unhygienic conditions. As per SDM East the drive was conducted to check the running of illegal Bakeries without license in residential area and would be continued in coming days also.
