Affixation of High Security Registration Plates

Chandigarh, 22 nd March 2018 : It is for the information of general public/residents of Chandigarh that the Registering & Licensing Authority, UT, Chandigarh has started the process for affixing of High Security Registration Plates on vehicles already registered and are to be registered in UT, Chandigarh at three notified locations i.e. the offices of R&LA, Sector-17, SDM(S), Sector-42, SDM (E), Indl. Area, Phase-I, Chandigarh from 29, November 2017. The owners of the vehicle having registration number of CH01-BN, CH01-BP and CH01-BQ series shall apply for affixation of HSRP at their respective offices with the request on plain paper mentioning the detail of Chassis Number, Engine Number, Make, Model, copy of Registration Certificate of the vehicle, copy of valid insurance before 31.03.2018. Observance of World TB Day

Chandigarh, 22 nd March 2018: World TB Day was observed today at Employees State Insurance, Dispensary, Sector-29, Chandigarh, catering to 109340 number of insured persons with 546700 number of beneficiaries. Chandigarh Administration is committed to control the tuberculosis disease in UT Chandigarh. In Chandigarh, 5590 number of patients have been diagnosed during the year 2017 against the target of 3480 given by the Central TB Division, Govt. of India, New Delhi, thereby achieving a target of 158 percent. The success rate of TB patients undergoing treatment is 91 percent. These patients were diagnosed in the Health Facilities comprising of Govt./Private Sector.   The diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis/ Multi Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) is being provided free of cost at all the Govt. Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan

Chandigarh, 21 st March, 2018: Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan’s ( RAA), an initiative of MHRD, Govt. of India was started in the year 2015-16 with the objective to connect school based knowledge to life outside the school by making teaching and learning of Mathematics and Science, a joyful and meaningful activity. In UT, Chandigarh, this project was started in 2015-16 as per the guidelines of MHRD in three Govt. Schools on pilot basis. Thereafter, till 2017-18, it was extended to 40 Govt. schools. Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali is the Mentoring Institute of UT, Chandigarh for Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan. Teachers of 40 Govt. schools prepared different projects and activities in the subject of Mathematics and Science under Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan during the session 2017-18 under the guidance of Mentoring Institute. Excise Policy of Chandigarh for the Year 2018-19

Chandigarh 20 th   March 2018:   New Excise Policy for the year 2018-19 aims at balancing the aspirations of the citizens, consumers, manufacturers, wholesalers and the Government 1. The Excise Policy 2018-19 would help to earn revenue approx. Rs. 450 crores in comparison with Rs. 354 crores last year and increase of approx. 27% over the corresponding last year. 2. The allotment of licensing units will be made by tendering system. 3. The no. of licensing units (CL/IMFL) has been increased from 77 to 93. 4. To promote low alcoholic contents beverages i.e. wine and to boost Indian Wine Industry, extra license fee / Excise duty has been reduced from Rs.20/- PBL to Rs.15/- PBL. 5. Beer will be cheaper in U.T., Chandigarh as extra license fee has been nominally increased from Rs. 20/- to Rs. 22/- per BL.
