World Health Day (WHD) 2016: Halt the Rise and beat Diabetes

Chandigarh, April 8 th , 2016 : World Health Day (WHD) is celebrated every year on 7 th April. The theme for this year’s WHD is ‘Beat Diabetes- Scale Up Prevention, Strengthen Care and enhance Surveillance’ and main goal of the Campaign is to spread awareness about the rise of Diabetes and its consequences. Availability of Free Laboratory Facilities 24X7 in GMSH-16

Chandigarh, April 8 th , 2016 : The Govt. Multi Speciality Hospital, Sector-16, Chandigarh provides Laboratory services to all the patients attending the OPD as well as patients admitted in the wards. These persons are students pursuing various courses, are patients undergoing treatment and also are citizens pursuing various vocations. As they are not tenants, they are not expected to be registered with the police. This in turn, may allow anti-social elements to reside in Chandigarh under the formal arrangement namely "Paying Guest". This arrangement involves charging for food and accommodation both. Inauguration of Apni Kisan Mandi

Chandigarh, 7th April, 2016: The Adviser of the Administrator, Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, today inaugurated the Apni/Kisan Mandi at Mela Ground Point, Sector 34, Chandigarh. Cancer Awareness Workshop Held on the Occasion of World Health Day

Branch, Chandigarh celebrated World Health Day on 7 th April, 2016 by organizing a Workshop on Cancer Awareness, Gender Sensitization and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation for staff working in Govt. as well as private schools, colleges and technical institutions of Chandigarh in the Auditorium of Post Graduate College for Girls, Sector 11, Chandigarh between 12 noon to 2 p.m. The Cancer Awareness Program was especially designed for the females. Apni/ Kissan Mandis in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 5th April, 2016 : During the visit of the Deputy Commissioner –cum- Secretary, State Agricultural Marketing Board, U.T.Chandigarh to the mandi Sector 26, Chandigarh, it was noticed that a large number of fruits/vegetable sellers were sitting on the roads for selling their goods.   The General Public and traffic was being obstructed due to the encroachments made by these people inside the mandi.  Worthy Secretary, State Agricultural Marketing Board, U.T. Chandigarh directed that the roads should be kept free from encroachments for farmers/General Public, but at the same time the fruits/vegetable sellers should not lose their lively hood. To achieve both these motives, it was decided that they will be settled in the Apni Mandies. Smart City Meeting

Chandigarh, 5th April: A meeting was held today at U.T. Guest House with the Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS Home Secretary cum Chairman Smart City Mission, Sh. Baldeo Purusharth, IAS Commissioner M.C cum Nodal Officer Smart City Mission, Sh. Bhupesh Chaudhary, IAS, co nodal officer smart city, Sh. Amit Talwar, PCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner along with other senior officials of the Chandigarh Administration. During the meeting, various aspects of the Smart City Proposal were discussed with the experts from the AFD. Discussions were held regarding the financials and technicalities of the revised smart city proposal. The team also went for a visit to the sectors which are selected under the Area Based Development Plan of the revised Smart City Proposal.

Polythene Free Drive

Chandigarh, April 5, 2016 : On the directions of Sh. Bhupesh Chaudhary, IAS, SDM (E), a team consisting of Sanitary Inspector and Enforcement Staff today conducted a drive to make the city beautiful polythene free. The drive was conducted in Main Bazar, Manimajra. The team has seized 20 Kg of Polythene and issued 9 challans of Rs 500/- and 03 challans of Rs 5000/- against violators.  

Revised Proposal of Chandigarh for Smart City Challenge

Chandigarh, 4 th April, 2016: Chandigarh has been selected under the Fast Track Cities for Smart City Mission under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD). In this phase, Chandigarh will be competing with 23 other cities, to enhance its Smart City proposal and become eligible for funding on accelerated basis in 2016-17. To refine its vision, mission and a proposal based upon suggestions received from panel of expert and MoUD, the consultant team from AECOM India Pvt Ltd has been hired. The consultant team is on ground since last 4 week reviewing comments received from panel of experts and MoUD, talking to stakeholders, conducting assessment of previously submitted SCP and making necessary refinements to the Chandigarh Smart City Proposal. Brochures/application forms for Two Bed Room Flats

Chandigarh, 3 rd   April, 2016 : The Brochures/application forms for the 200 Two Bed Room Flats under Self Financing Housing Scheme 20016 in Sector-51-A, Chandigarh were not available in the branches of the approved banks yesterday. HDFC bank, being the Principal Banker for the Scheme, was responsible for the printing and distribution of these brochures to the other six approved banks, namely:- 1.      State Bank of India 2.      Punjab National Bank 3.      Axix Bank 4.      Induslnd Bank 5.      Allahabad Bank 6.      Punjab & Sind Bank However, adequate copies of the Brochure have been supplied by the Principal Banker HDFC to the above listed banks now.  The Brochureis presently not available online and shall be available online only from 08.04.2016 Prescribed application forms can also be filled online by the public thereafter. ...
