Open House Becomes More Open with Time Bound Grievance Redressal

Chandigarh, 8 th  August 2018:  Sh. V P Singh Badnore, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator U.T, Chandigarh chaired the meeting today in the presence of Sh. A K Gupta, IAS, Home Secretary, Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha, IAS, Finance Secretary Chandigarh Administration, Sh. J M Balamurugan, IAS, Secretary to the Governor, today at U.T Secretariat.               The Administrator announced that in order to make the grievance redressal process more efficient, grievances received via different mediums will be addressed as and when the Administrator visits U.T. Secretariat. These Steps have been taken to resolve the grievances are as follows 1.     Online Citizens can share their grievances on the official online portal of Raj Bhawan,  www.punjabrajbhavan.gov.in . First Level Checking (FLC) of M3 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs)

Chandigarh, 8 th  August, 2018:  This is for the information of the Political Parties that as per the directions of the Election Commission of India, New Delhi, the First Level Checking (FLC) of M3 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for use in the coming General Election to Lok Sabha-2019 of 01- Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency has started from 07.08.2018 in the EVM Warehouse situated in the basement of Addl. Townhall Building, Sector-17, U.T., Chandigarh. All the Political Parties are hereby invited to oversee the process of FLC.

Launch of HIV/AIDS awareness cum community based testing campaign in Panjab University

Chandigarh, 8 th  August, 2018:  Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society launched HIV/AIDS awareness campaign in Panjab University today. The campaign was launched by Prof Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University along with Dr. Vanita Gupta, Project Director, CSACS, Dr. Davender Dhawan, CMO, Prof Nahar Singh, Dean, Student Welfare (Men), Prof Neena Caplash, Dean, Student Welfare (Women) from Student Centre, Panjab University. Dr. Vanita Gupta, Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society informed that  Youth in India comprises 34.8% of the total population and  youth are vulnerable to HIV.  It is seen that 86% of those infected, are in the age group 15 – 49 years.  It is important to equip the youth with correct knowledge and information about Sexually Transmitted Infections and how to avoid Drug Abuse. Skill development training in Housekeeping Inaugurated under radhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana

Chandigarh, August 07, 2018:   Chandigarh Skill Dvelopment Mission in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India organized the inauguration of Skill development training in Housekeeping under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The Skill development training was inaugurated by Sh. Jitendar Yadav, IAS, Managing Director, CITCO, and Sh.Sachin Rana, IAS, Special Secretary, Technical Education-cum-Mission Director, Chandigarh Skill Development Mission. Teej Celebrations

Chandigarh, 7 th August 2018: The Department of Tourism, Chandigarh Administration is celebrating Teej Festival in coordination with Society for Maintenance & Development of Rock Garden Chandigarh at Phase 3, Rock Garden, Chandigarh on 11 th and 12 th August, 2018. Various activities and dance/cultural performances are being organized during the celebration of Teej Festival. The inauguration of the event will be done on 11 th August at 05:00 p.m. with the various performances of Artists by NZCC, Live Police Band & various cultural dances such as Gidda, Bhangra and special performance from Vrindawan dance. 20th Quinquennial Livestock Census to be carried from 20th August

Chandigarh, 7 th  August 2018:  The 20 th  Quinquennial Livestock Census will be carried out in Union Territory Chandigarh from 20 th  August, 2018 to 19 th  November, 2018   as per directions of Govt. of India, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Department of Animal Husbandry Dairying and Fisheries, New Delhi. Livestock rearing is one of the most important economic activities in the rural areas of the country contributing significantly to the national economy. This census will be conducted for breed-wise number of animals and poultry with their age and sex composition for various species across the country. Capt. Karnail Singh, Director Animal Husbandry revealed that Mobile Application on data collection for 20 th  Livestock Census has been developed for field level by Govt. of India. Polio Free Chandigarh since 2006

Chandigarh, August 6, 2018: 76,156 children were immunized in two days of SubNational Immunization Round (SNID) Polio Round on 5 th and 6 th August, 2018 in UT Chandigarh in spite of unfavorable weather conditions. Universal Immunization Programme is a flagship programme of Honorable PrimeMinister and Time and again, Govt. of India is stressing upon 100% coverage of immunization for which UT Chandigarh has already achieved it for Routine Immunization and is also ensuring 100% Polio immunization as well to maintain Polio free status. The enhanced coverage is owing to the Night vigil i.e. Taare Zameen Par being implemented during which 208 no of children have been immunized in the night hours in different parts of the city like railway station, bus stands, streets, showroom corridors etc. SNID Pulse Polio Campaign is being done nationwide to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 years with Oral Polio Drops. ...

Sub National Immunization Day- Polio Round

Chandigarh, August 5, 2018: 39,846 children were immunized on day one of Sub National Immunization Round (SNID) Polio August 2018. Sub-National Immunization Round (SNID) is scheduled in U.T. Chandigarh on 5 th and 6 th August 2018. The difference between National Immunization Day (NID) and Sub National Immunization Day (SNID) is that the NID is a three day campaign where day one is dedicated for booth activity. SNID is a two day House – to – House activity which is being conducted to focus on High Risk areas. In the Sub National Immunization Round (SNID), 80 Supervisors monitored the booth activity for which 570 teams (consisting of 2 members in a team) of vaccinators were deployed to visit House – to – House. Teams are fully geared up to vaccinate all the children in 0-5 Years of age group in High Risk Areas along with the children on the roads, streets, beggars etc. The monitoring was done under the supervision of Director Health & Family Welfare ...
