Charges Assigned

Chandigarh, 24 th  August, 2017:  The Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is pleased to temporarily assign the charge of the post of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (South), U.T. Chandigarh to Sh. Kishore Kshirsagar Lakshman, IAS (P) and the charge of the post of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (Central) to Sh. S. Asker Ali, IAS (P) for the period from 23.08.2017 to 31.08.2017, relieving Ms. Kriti Garg, IAS of the charges for this period.

Chandigarh, 24 th  August, 2017:  In pursuance of the order dated: 14.12.2016 issued by Hon’ble National Green Tribunal, Principal Bench, New Delhi, in the matter of Khalid Ashraf & Anr. Vs. U.O.I. & Ors. (O.A. No. 384 of 2016) and P.E.T.A., India Vs. U.O.I. & Ors. (O.A. no. 442 of 2016), it has been made to appear to me that a large number of people flying the kites, use synthetic/nylon-glass coated thread popularly known as Pakka thread/Dori and Chinese Maanjha/Dori. These Maanjhas/Doris, being made of synthetic material are non-biodegradable and thus cause serious injuries to human beings, birds and are equally disadvantageous & harmful to the wildlife/environment. Under Rule 2 of Temporary Suspension of Telecom Services (Public Emergency of Public Safety) Rules, 2017

Chandigarh, 24 th  August, 2017:  In exercise of powers conferred upon the Home Secretary, U.T. Chandigarh by virtue of   Rule 2 of Temporary Suspension of Telecom Services (Public Emergency of Public Safety) Rules, 2017, Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary, U.T. Chandigarh hereby orders suspension of the 1). Mobile Internet Services (2G/3G/4G/CDMA), 2). All SMS services 3) All dongle services etc. provided on mobile networks  except voice calls  in the territorial jurisdiction of Union Territory of Chandigarh. All Telecom Service Providers in Union Territory of Chandigarh and Principal General Manager BSNL (Telecom District, Chandigarh) are hereby directed to ensure compliance of this order.  This order is issued to prevent any disturbance of peace and public order in the jurisdiction of Union Territory of Chandigarh and shall be in force for the next three days, from the time this suspension order becomes operational. 

Administrator holds an interactive session with Principals of Government Schools of Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 24 th  August, 2017:  His Excellency the Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT had an interactive session with all the Principals/Headmasters of the 114 Government schools of UT Chandigarh. The Hon’ble Administrator shared his vision and experience as to how institutions/schools can be transformed into centres of excellence by diligence, innovative approach and commitment of teachers, Principals and Senior Officers of the department. Principals/Headmasters appraised the Hon’ble Administrator about the issues relating to double shift schools, shortage of staff & the lecturers, water logging during rainy season, anti social activities (in and around some institutions located in the peripheral areas). Tatkal Service by Chandigarh Housing Board

Chandigarh, 23 rd August 2017: The Chandigarh Housing Board has provided the Tatkal facility for various services of CHB. Under this scheme, the cases are processed on priority basis. In order to bring about further transparency, it has been directed that dealing assistants shall process the cases and put up to the Accounts Officer (Tatkal)  on the same day after receiving the application. The Accounts Officer (Tatkal) shall examine the case and if there are shortcomings/requirement of essential documents or if there are any objections, then the Accounts Officer (Tatkal) shall intimate to the applicant immediately through e-mail, telephone and through post. After completion of all the formalities, the Accounts Officer (Tatkal) shall forward the case, with recommendations, to the Chief Accounts Officer, CHB, who will further  examine the case and forward to the competent authority directly (i.e. Chief Executive Officer for GPA & Consensual Transfer cases and Secretary, ...
