EXCISE POLICY OF U.T., CHANDIGARH FOR THE PERIOD 2020-21 (01.07.2020 TO 31.03.2021)

Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator U.T., Chandigarh Sh. V. P. Singh Badnore, after a detailed presentation by the Adviser, Secretary (E&T), ETC and other Senior Officers of the Excise Department, has approved Amended Excise Policy 2020-21 (01.07.2020 to 31.03.2021) as due to outbreak of coronavirus, the Excise Policy 2020-21 for the whole year (01.04.2020 to 31.03.2021) could not be notified/ implemented and the Excise Policy for the year 2019-20 was extended upto 30.06.2020. The Amended Excise Policy aims at balancing the aspirations of the consumers, manufacturers, wholesalers/ retailers and the Government. Some of the salient features of this Policy are:- 1. The allotment of licensing units will be made through complete e-tendering system for more transparency and complete online system for issuance of permit/passes to facilitate Trade and Industry has also been introduced. 2. In view of corona outbreak and its adverse affect on the economy, there is need to boost up the economy by liberalization of Rules. Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Abhiyan in 11 centres

Chandigarh.9 June,2020:UT Chandigarh has carried out Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Abhiyan (PMSMA) in 11 centres i.e. CH 22, SDH Manimajra, CH 45, HWC DaduMajra, Kajheri, PHD 25, HWC Sarangpur, EWS Dhanas, HWC Ramdarbar, HWC CITCO and UPHC Mauli Jagran. This activity was stalled for the last two months on instructions by GOI in view of COVID. This Abhiyan is held on 9th of every month for screening all Pregnant Women of 2nd and 3rd trimester and those Pregnant Women who were missed out. Screening of high risk pregnancy is done by MOs/Obstetricians. Antenatal check up, BP and weight monitoring, essential testing such as Blood sugar, Haemoglobin, VDRL,blood grouping and USG are done on the same day. Counselling on ANC , identification of High risk cases, diet, hygiene, importance of exercise is done for all pregnant women.
