Kamal Kishor Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh , in addition to his own duties, with immediate effect, relieving Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS and Sh. Deputy Commissioner U.T.-cum-President, SPCA Chandigarh visited the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Chandigarh, 18th July 2019:   The SPCA, Chandigarh is working under the able guidance of Sh. Mandeep Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner U.T.-cum-President SPCA, Chandigarh to prevent cruelty to animals, provide help & relief to stray animals in Union Territory of Chandigarh and Surroundings. The Deputy Commissioner U.T.-cum-President, SPCA Chandigarh visited the premises of Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Sector 38 Chandigarh today.   During the said visit he saw the functioning of SPCA and visited Dog kennels, Bird centre, Laser treatment Centre and Gaushala. To ensure this, the officials periodically review the functioning of various departments to implement new measures aimed at attaining the objective. Keeping this objective in mind, Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, the Deputy Commissioner-cum- Estate Officer, Chandigarh, held a meeting at DC office Chandigarh with the head of departments of Estate office. Jal Shakti Abhiyan launched in Chandigarh           Chandigarh, 15 th  July, 2019:    Jal Shakti Abhiyan, a flagship scheme of govt. of India to conserve water, has been launched in Chandigarh. As a part of the scheme Eco-club Day was celebrated in 114 govt and private schools today. The theme of the celebration was water conservation and tree plantation. More than 20,000 students from all schools took part in various activities. The abhiyan includes water conservation and Rain Water Harvesting, renovation of traditional and other water bodies/tanks, reuse and recharge structures and intensive Afforestation Mr. Manoj Parida,I.A.S, Adviser to the UT Administrator , UT Chandigarh was the Chief Guest at GMSSS, Sector -16, Chandigarh.
