Celebration of 72nd Independence Day in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 15 August, 2018:   The Chandigarh Administration today celebrated the 72nd Independence Day with thrill and glory at the Parade Ground, Sector 17, Chandigarh. The Governor of Punjab   and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, was the chief guest of the occasion. The Administrator unfurled the National Flag and took salute from the various contingents of Police and NCC Cadets participating in the Independence Day Parade. Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore gave the commendation certificates to 24 employees of the Chandigarh Administration and general public for rendering outstanding services in the field of Public services, Art and Culture, Social Services and Sports. 17 Police personnel were also conferred Administrator's Police Medal for their distinguished and meritorious services.   The Chandigarh Police received the overall best  award in the parade. Colorful Bonanza at Tagore Theatre

HIV/AIDS Awareness to Mark International Youth Day

Chandigarh, 14 th  August 2018:  The International Youth Day is observed annually in the month of August throughout the world. This day is an opportunity when youth can be sensitized on various important issues like HIV/AIDS. To address the issue of HIV/AIDS  Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society had organized an HIV/AIDS awareness event to mark “International Youth Day in the premises of Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 11, Chandigarh. Chandigarh Administration condoles the passing away of Sh. Balram Ji Das Tandon

Chandigarh, 14th August 2018: Chandigarh Administration is deeply saddened on the sudden demise of Sh. Balramji Das Tandon, Hon’ble Governor of Chhattisgarh. The legendary leader is well known for his selfless service for the poor and needy people. His long political career was devoted for the people of India. The stalwart of Indian politics will always be remembered for his contribution to the Social and Political fields. The mortal remains of the leader will be brought to Ambala via a special aircraft and then by road to Chandigarh, his hometown (House No: 1636, Sector-18 D) on 14th August 2018. The Governor of Punjab and Haryana will receive the mortal remains of the Governor of Chhattisgarh at his residence.  The Ministers of Haryana, Sh. Rao Narbir and Sh.
