Celebrations of Chandigarh Carnival 2019 began with a Bang

Chandigarh, 20th December,2019:The City’s annual festival—Chandigarh Carnival today got underway with a bang. The three-day carnival is being held at Open Ground opposite Museum & Art Gallery, Sector 10, Chandigarh and would be held till 22nd December, 2019.  Knowing the tourism potential of these events, the Ministry of Tourism has also included Chandigarh Carnival in its calendar. The celebrations will provide an ample opportunity to visitors and citizens of tricity to participate in variety of events and activities, which would promote Chandigarh as a Happening City and as a hub of tourism and culture in this region. Press conference regarding the implementation of the Prime Minister’ 15 New Point Programme 

Chandigarh.16 December,2019.Sardar Manjit Singh Rai, Hon’ble Member of National Commission for Minorities (NCM), Government of India, New Delhi visited Chandigarh from 14th – 16th December, 2019 to review the progress of various schemes/programmes covered under Prime Minister’s New 15 Point Programme for the Welfare of Minority Communities. Hon’ble Member, NCM held a meeting with the Commissioner Municipal Corporation, ADC, Director Social Welfare, Superintendent of Police, Director Higher/School Education representatives of the Minority Communities and other senior officers of Chandigarh Administration. Chandigarh.16 th December, 2019. Due to onset of winter season, there is an expected upsurge of Influenza like illness (ILI) cases in the region. Being a viral disease it is a self limiting one but if symptoms do not subside we should report to nearest health facility. To alert general public about Seasonal influenza A (H1N1) occurrence it is being advised; younger than 5 Look for these symptoms: FEVER and    Other symptoms may include Ø Cough Ø Sore Throat Ø Runny or stuffy nose Ø Difficulty in breathing Ø Body Aches Ø Headache Ø   Chills Ø Diarrhoea Ø Vomiting Ø Blood in sputum Ø Fatigue People with certain chronic conditions (Diabetes, hypertension, airway disease and heart disease etc), adults 65 years or older, children younger than 5 years and pregnant women may be at higher risk for severe illness.
