14th edition of Administrator’s Challenge Cup All India Football Tournament (U-17 Boys)

Chandigarh, 23 rd September, 2016: The Sports Department, Chandigarh Administration is organizing the 14 th edition of Administrator’s Challenge Cup All India Football Tournament (U-17 Boys) from 22 nd to 30 th September, 2016 at Chandigarh Football Academy Ground, Sports Complex, Sector – 42, Chandigarh and Football Stadium, Sector – 17, Chandigarh. The Sports Department initiated the hosting of the All India Football Tournament (U-17 Boys) to give exposure to the academy boys as well as to popularize the event with utmost efforts at All India level under the aegis of All India Football Federation. Now it has scaled a height where around 13 outside teams & 3 local teams have confirmed participation in it.

Meeting held for General Elections of Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 23 rd September, 2016: A meeting was held today at the UT guest house regarding arrangements to be done for the smooth conduct of General Elections of Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh likely to be held in the month of December, 2016. Meeting held regarding prevention of Dengue & Chikungunya

Chandigarh, 23 rd September, 2016: Discussion was held on 23.9.2016 by Director Health & Family Welfare, U.T. Chandigarh with the Civil Surgeon, Mohali and Civil Surgeon, Panchkula regarding cross border issues of Dengue & Chikungunya. It was decided that the line list of all confirmed positive cases of Dengue & Chikungunya which are from the U.T. and the two  D istricts will be shared amongst the three.  Accordingly, intensive survey and vigilance drives will be made by the field staff of the respective  D istricts around the residence of the patient in order to control the spread of infection by curbing the breeding of mosquitoes especially in those areas. Chandigarh to be the 1st city to implement Technology of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Drones

Chandigarh, 23 rd September, 2016: Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh today reviewed the Technology of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Drones. Chandigarh is the 1 st city to implement the technology of Aerial Survey/resurvey. The Drones have been implemented in collaboration with PEC Chandigarh and IIIT Delhi. Sector-7 Chandigarh is the 1 st area to be surveyed in Pilot Phase of the Drone to achieve the component of Aerial Survey/resurvey for UT Chandigarh. Review of Dengue and Chickungunya cases

Chandigarh, 22 nd  September, 2016:  Today 20 cases of dengue has been reported from various health institutions which includes12 new cases and 8 confirmed amongst probable cases(till the release of press note)which brings the total number of Dengue cases to 204 in the city. Three fresh cases of Chickungunya has been reported by GMCH 32.On field investigations it was observed that Two are imported (one from Delhi and one from Rajasthan) and third gave a wrong address so which brings to total number of chickungunya cases to 9( 6 imported, 1 wrong address and 2 from Chandigarh).Total three deaths due to dengue has been reported in last two days from various health institutions two from Punjab(One Derabassi, one village manouli surat  both in Mohali district) and one from village ladwa, kurukshetra Haryana. E-Auction of registration numbers

Chandigarh, 22 nd  September, 2016:  The Registering and Licensing Authority, U.T., Chandigarh conducted E-Auction for special/choice registration numbers as well as ordinary registration numbers for the series “CH-01-BJ” from vehicle registration numbers 0001 to 9999. The total amount for 242 registration numbers including special/choice number and ordinary numbers fetched Rs. 54,01,000/-      The number CH-01-BJ-0001 fetched the highest amount i.e. Rs. 4,93,000/-, CH-01-BJ-0009 fetched Rs.3,52,000/- and CH-01-BJ-0007 reached for Rs. 2,68,000/-. 

Centre for Climate Environment and Health

Chandigarh, 22 nd  September, 2016:  Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS,  Home Secretary cum Secretary Health today held a meeting with the Dr. Vanita Gupta Director Health Services, Chandigarh Administration, Dr. Surinder Paul, Director, India Meteorological Department, Dr. Manoj K Arora , Director PEC, Dr. Gaurav Aggarwal, Anti Malaria Officer with regard to setting up of Centre for Climate, Environment and Health in the city Beautiful. The centre will be first of its kind to be set up in the country which will be physically set up at PEC and Health Department of U.T Chandigarh. The centre will basically work on the Geographical Imaging system (GIS), Health Informatics Lab and Climate and Health Services Lab. 17th Meeting of Executive Committee of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Society

Chandigarh, 22 nd September, 2016: 17 th meeting of Executive Committee of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Society was held under the chairmanship of Sh. Sarvjit Singh, IAS, Education Secretary, U.T., Chandigarh at U.T., Secretariat today. Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, PCS, Director School Education and Sh. Chanchal Singh, Deputy Director School Education were also present during the meeting. Agenda of the meeting was to discuss the action taken report of the previous meeting of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, and other important issues like selection criteria prescribed for the post of Resource person under SSA, U.T, Chandigarh, salary and contract period of Resource teachers, procedures of renewal of contract period of teachers working under SSA, recruitment of resource persons under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan, U.T., Chandigarh and rationalization of Clusters and Cluster schools.

Dengue Drive by the Health Department

Chandigarh, 21 st September, 2016: Today 16 cases of dengue have been reported from various health institutions which includes10 new cases and 6 confirmed amongst probable cases (till the release of press note). Most of the cases of dengue are being reported from Sector 41, 42,45, 15, Manimajra, maloya and maulijagran. No fresh case of Chickungunya has been reported in any of the health institution. Testing facility for chickungunya has been started in GMCH sector 32. To further strengthen the preventive activites, daily fumigation is being carried out alongwith strengthening of field activities which includes mass awareness, checking of breeding sources like coolers, containers, tyres and other sources. Till date 30 challans, 50 show cause notices and more than 2459 notices have been issued to the defaulters.  An advisory for school children is also being issued for prevention against mosquito bite for prevention of malaria and dengue.
