Open Auction of vehicle registration numbers

Chandigarh, 30 January, 2016:   The Registering and Licensing Authority, U.T., Chandigarh conducted the Open Auction of vehicle registration numbers for the series  “CH-01-BF” from vehicle registration numbers from  0001 to 0100 on Day 1, dated 30.01.2016. The total bid amount for the first 100 numbers reached Rs.60, 79,000/- wherein all 100 numbers from 0001 to 0100 were successfully bid on Day 1 itself. The same is a considerable increase from the corresponding amount of Rs.38,05,000/- raised in Day 1 of the last series “CH01-BE”.                    The number CH-01-BF-0001 fetched the highest amount i.e. Rs. 3, 50,000/- in today’s auction. The second highest number bid was CH-01-BF-0009 for Rs.3, 31,000/- and CH-01-BF-0003 for Rs. 2, 88,000/-. The numbers from 0101 onwards of the series CH01-BF will go under the hammer on Day 2 of the Open Auction tomorrow i.e. dated 31.01.20...

9th Day of Craft Mela

Chandigarh, 30 January, 2016:   On the penultimate day of the Chandigarh National Crafts Mela, a joint venture of Chandigarh Administration and the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), at Kalagram here, throngs of incurable Mela buffs continue to drop in the Mela venue to enjoy the multi hues of North and North East states, offering a bonanza of art and crafts activity. Today being a holiday in offices, people started pouring in since morning and the crowd had touched the 20 thousands mark by the evening. High Security Registration Plates

Chandigarh, 29 January, 2016:   It is for the information of general public/residents of Chandigarh that the Registering & Licensing Authority, UT, Chandigarh has started the process for affixing of High Security Registration Plates on vehicles already registered in UT, Chandigarh at three notified locations i.e. the offices of R&LA, Sector-17, SDM(S), Sector-42, SDM (E), Indl. ‘Solar Power Camps’

8th day of the annual Chandigarh National Crafts Mela

Chandigarh, 29 January, 2016:   On the 8 th  day of the annual Chandigarh National Crafts Mela, jointly organised by the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), and Chandigarh Administration, at Kalagram here, witnessed huge footfalls, today, with the incurable lovers of ancient art and crafts thronging the Mela. The early morning light drizzled failed to play spoil sport to thousands of Mela enthusiasts, who came calling to savour the colourful favours of distant corners of the country. The Mela, which offers a peep into the rich cultural heritage of the country, brings together under one umbrella artisans and craftsmen representing various state of India showcasing their talent. The weather gods rained warmth on the third consecutive day allowing free flow of Mela buffs, which enjoyed amid the sun shining even more brightly today.   The day performances started with the traditional folk dance from Uttarakhand,  ‘Ghasiari’, followed by a Kashmir folk dance and ‘Zebro’, folk dance of Leh-Ladakh, a martial dance genre of Manipur – where performing artistes displayed their martial art through the dance sequence, which left the audience in awe and admiration. 6 th  day of the Chandigarh National Crafts Mela Chandigarh, 27 January, 2016:  People from far and near continue to throng the 10-day Chandigarh National Crafts Mela, jointly organised by Chandigarh Administration and North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC) at Kala Gram  to enjoy the colours of the composite cultural heritage of the country under one roof. On the 6 th  day today the Mela buffs in and thousands enjoyed the bright sunshine while taking a round of the ‘Mini’ India-cum-crafts Mela.  The day performances included traditional folk dances and songs of various regions of the country. 67th Republic Day Celebrations Chandigarh, 26 January, 2016: The Chandigarh Administration today with thrill and glory celebrated the 67th Republic Day in the Parade Ground, Sector 17, Chandigarh. The Governor of Punjab & Haryana and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh H.E Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, was the chief guest on the occasion. The Administrator unfurled the National Flag and took salute from the various contingents of Police and NCC Cadets participating in the Republic Day Parade.
