Health Camp

Chandigarh, 9 th July, 2016: Chandigarh Health Department in Collaboration with School of Public Health, PGIMER, Gynae. Department, GMCH-32, State Bank of Patiala and Rotary Chandigarh Sivalik organized free Health Camp at Public Health Dispensary, Sector 25 today. The Health Camp was inaugurated by Joint Commissioner MC Sh. Rajiv Gupta, IAS and Dr. Subhash Verma, Dean PGIMER. This was the fifth Health Camp in continuation of previous four Health Camps held at Daddu Majra, Maulijagran, Dhanas and Ramdarbar. Dr. Vanita Gupta, Director Health Services after welcoming the Joint Commissioner and Dean PGIMER assured them that the optimum preventive, diagnostic and curative services will be provided to people coming to the health facility with expectation of getting best health care services. “Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan”

Chandigarh, 9 th July, 2016: Under the “Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan” (PMSMA) an initiative of Government of India, the  second campaign was carried out today by the Health department U.T Chandigarh at four centres i.e. EWS Dhanas, Civil Dispensary Moulijagran, Civil Dispensary Ramdarbar and  PHD-25. This campaign was started in U.T. Chandigarh on the 9 th of June 2016. Dr. Vanita Gupta, Director Health Services said a total number of 357 pregnant women have been examined and 280 investigations carried out. The essential medicines like Calcium, Iron Folic Acid, Folic acid, Albendazole etc have been distributed to all the beneficiaries and 48 pregnant women are line listed for ultrasound examination which will be carried out at the ultrasound centres. Out of the registered pregnant women, 40 high risk pregnancies have been identified at the different centres and are being managed /referred to the higher institutes for further care. Van Mahotsava-2016

Chandigarh, 8 th July, 2016 : Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, UT Chandigarh today inaugurated Paudh Mela at Parking Place near Lake Club at Sukhna Lake to mark the beginning of Van Mahotsava-2016 . There are stalls of Forest Department, Horticulture Wing of Municipal Corporation and Engineering Department at the parking area of Sukhna Lake.  Residents of the city can get saplings either free of cost (Forest Department) or at nominal rates (Municipal Corporation & Engineering deptt) and can also get to know technical knowhow of plantation and post plantation care. Health Awareness camp/ advocacy workshop as part of Anti Dengue Month

Chandigarh, 8 th  July, 2016:   As a preparatory activity under the guidance of Director Health & Family Welfare, UT-Chandigarh the Malaria wing of Health Department, UT-Chandigarh today organized Health Awareness camp/ advocacy workshop at Shastri Market Sector-22, as a part of observance of July as Anti Dengue Month.           The awareness camp was attended by staff from the Malaria wing, the representatives of local Market association and general community of the area.           Dr. Inderpal Singh (Epidemiologist-IDSP), assured the gathering that the workers will continue their anti dengue activities in the area with full zeal in this season with support of market workers. Health Camp to be held at Public Health Dispensary, Sector 25 on 9th July, 2016

Chandigarh, 7 th   July, 2016:   Chandigarh Health Department in Collaboration with School of Public Health, PGIMER,  Gynae. deptt. GMCH-32 and State Bank of Patiala is going to organize free Health Camp at Public Health Dispensary, Sector 25   on 9 th July, 2016 (Saturday) from 8.00 AM onwards. Clarification regarding news item “Discotheques may close an hour later, at 1 AM”

Chandigarh, 7 th  July, 2016:   In reference to   the news item published today in a leading English newspaper under the headline “Discotheques may close an hour later, at 1 AM”, it has been clarified by Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, U.T Chandigarh that no such policy regarding allowing discotheques to remain open upto 1 am was discussed in any meeting or reviewed. The facts mentioned in the news item are devoid of truth. Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, U.T Chandigarh said, “The policy will be followed in letter and spirit”.

New decisions taken by Chandigarh Housing Board

Chandigarh, 6 th  July, 2016:  The Chandigarh Housing Board has taken the following decisions:- 1. Permission for internal changes within the covered area of Chandigarh Housing Board Dwelling Units.                         The Board has approved that procedure for extending any need based benefits be kept simple and there is no requirement for approval of the Board in extending any need based benefits in future, in order to cut   red tape. It has also been decided that allottees will submit a certificate of structural stability from a structural engineer registered with the Chandigarh Administration for the purpose of updating of records of Chandigarh Housing Board. 2. Administrator’s Advisory Council

Chandigarh, 6 th  July, 2016:    The Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is pleased to include the President, Confederation of Indian Industry, Northern Region, Chandigarh in the Administrator’s Advisory Council to advise the Chandigarh Administration on developmental issues and policy matters affecting the Union Territory of Chandigarh. The term of this council shall be for a period of two years from date of issue of earlier Notification dated 6.5.2016.

Holiday on account of Eid Ul Fitr

7 th July 2016 will be observed as Public Holiday in all Government Offices/ Boards/ Corporations/ Institutions including Industrial Establishments under the Chandigarh Administration and also within the meaning of section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 on account of Eid Ul Fitr. Restricted Holiday already declared on 6 th July 2016, on account of Eid Ul Fitr is hereby cancelled.

Donation to government supported Crèches

Chandigarh, 5 th July, 2016 :   A leading manufacturer company has donated 240 towels small, 120 towels big and 60 bed-sheets to all the kids of the government supported Crèches across the city beautiful. Smt. Bhawna Garg, IAS, Secretary Social Welfare Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration and Vice President of Indian Council for Child Welfare (ICCW) -- which looks after management of Creches -- said the company Trident Group has made the donation for the welfare of the children. The ICCW has 60 Creches in the city which have admissions of more than 1,500 kids of the working couples. Trident Group is one of the leading manufacturers & exporters of terry towel, home textile, yarn & paper in India.

Submission of Forms for Transfer of Properties

Chandigarh, 4 th  July, 2016:  It has been pointed out that the general public has to face inconvenience and harassment at the time of submitting their application forms for transfer of properties, deposit of fees, submission of other documents etc at Chandigarh Housing Board. As per the existing practice, the Public Relations Officers (PROs) examine the forms at the time of submission and do not accept the incomplete documents. Keeping in view these circumstances, on the persistent demand of the general public, in the interest of public service and to facilitate the delivery of services to the general public, it is hereby ordered that the Public Relations Officers (PROs) shall accept all the applications, documents, fees etc. and they shall have a preliminary examination of the documents and if there is any obvious shortcoming, the same shall be mentioned on the receipt for the information/guidance of the applicant as well as for the information of the concerned branch....

397th Meeting of the Chandigarh Housing Board

Chandigarh, 1 st  July, 2016 :  The 397 th  meeting of the Chandigarh Housing Board was held on 30.06.2016.
