Chandigarh, 04th June 2021: Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) celebrated the eve of World Environment Day. The theme of World Environment Day 2021 is 'Reimagine. Recreate. Restore.' as this year marks the beginning of the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. While Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Sh. NITI Aayog unveils SDG India Index

Chandigarh tops the chart amongst UTs Also emerges on top in Zero hunger indices, Quality education and Economic growth Chandigarh,3rd June, 2021:The government’s top think tank NITI Aayog today launched the third edition of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) India Index and Dashboard 2020-21. Noting that the country’s overall SDG score has improved by 6 points— from 60 in 2019 to 66 in 2020–21, the Index, which was released by NITI Aayog’s Vice-Chairman Rajiv Kumar in the presence of Member (Health) VK Paul, CEO Amitabh Kant and Adviser (SDG) Sanyukta Samaddar, has placed Kerala at the top of the chart with 75 points on a score of 100. As the Index was prepared on the basis of 16 identified goals including a host of social, environmental and economic parameters, different states did well on different counts. Tamil Nadu and Delhi have been judged best in dealing with issues relating to poverty. Similarly Kerala and Chandigarh did well to ensure zero hunger indices. ...

A review meeting with senior officers of the Administration in UT Secretariat today

Chandigarh, 2nd June, 2021: Hon’ble Governor of Punjab & Administrator, UT, Chandigarh held a review meeting with senior officers of the Administration in UT Secretariat today. After Dr. Amandeep Kang made a presentation regarding the progress of vaccination, the Hon’ble Administrator directed that the speed of vaccination should be enhanced. He also appealed to the Market Associations and shopkeepers to ensure that all their staff gets vaccinated, so that the shops do not become centres for spreading infection. He advised the Health Department to organize special camps to cover vulnerable groups; such as street vendors, hawkers, transport employees etc, who come in contact with large number of people. The Administrator also reviewed the functioning of Army Hospital, ESI Hospital and Mini Covid Care Centres, which have been designated for covid treatment. Good response in E-Tender for vacant dwelling units on Free-hold basis

Chandigarh.1st June,2021:The Chandigarh Housing Board invited e-Tenders for the sale of 79 Built-up Dwelling Units on Free-Hold Basis. The units were available in Sector-38(West), Sector-49, Sector-51 and in Sector-63. The last of submitted of e-bids was 31.05.2021 at 06.00 PM. Total 97 e-bids were received for 27 dwelling units and the same were opened as per the schedule from 10.00 AM onwards Today. The detail of successful highest bidders has been uploaded on the website of the Chandigarh Housing Board www.chbonline.in. The whole process of e-Tendering was completed with the technical assistance of National Informatics Centre (NIC) - Chandigarh on its e-Tendering platform. Considering that there was total secrecy about number of bids and the bid amount, the Chandigarh Housing Board could better competitive prices. Chandigarh.30th May,2021: This is in reference to incorrect report on disruption of electricity supply and management of Covid patients admitted in GMCH-32 and South Campus-48 during this period. The issue was got inquired in length and found that there is no link between the power failure and the deaths occurred in COVID ICU. Facts of the incidence are as follows: Yesterday night there were total of 116 patients on oxygen and 38 patients in 4 Covid ICUs in GMCH 32 and 30 patients on oxygen and 07 patients in ICU in South Campus 48. Electricity supply got disrupted at around 10.30 PM. JE electricity looking after both campuses was immediately contacted by MS to ensure that electricity supply to all critical areas is maintained. At that time electricity generating set were already switched on and electricity supply was being provided to all critical areas including ICUs in both campuses. 1,400 MTs WHEAT DISTRIBUTED UNDER PMGKAY

Chandigarh.31st May ,2021:The Chandigarh Administration has distributed 1,400 metric tonnes of wheat under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. The foodgrains are distributed free of cost to the registered beneficiaries @ 10 KG of wheat per family member, for month of May and June 2021 in one go. Only those, who have been earlier enrolled for cash transfer under DBT are eligible to receive these foodgrains. This is in addition to monthly food subsidy being given. Sh. Vinod P. Kavle,IAS, Secretary, Food & Supplies stated that despite lack of any infrastructure like fair price shops, food depots, the Administration has been able to distribute the foodgrains in various sectors without any crowd, congestion or controversy.
