Adviser holds meeting with Industrial Advisory Committee

Chandigarh, 9th August 2019: A meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Adviser to the Administrator, Sh. Manoj Parida at UT Secretariat with the members of Industrial Advisory Committee of Chandigarh to sort out important issues regarding to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises of Chandigarh. The Adviser to the Administrator had a discussion with the members on various issues like promotion of Start-ups in the City, Conversion of plots from Lease Hold to Free Hold in Industrial Area, deemed assessment of VAT cases prior to GST regime, Infrastructural development in Industrial and Business Park, Linking of Phase I & II , Public parking etc. The members of the Industrial Advisory Committee also shared suggestions like introducing single window system for immediate disposal of industrial cases/ issues or appointment of nodal officer speedy redressal of the issues. The Adviser meets Officers of Government of Punjab and Haryana to discuss issues of Tricity Transportation & Urban Planning

Chandigarh, 9th August 2019: A high level meeting was held today after three years on issues of Tricity Transportation & Urban Planning under the chairmanship of Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator with the Principal Secretary (Transport), Punjab, Secretary (Local Government) Punjab, Town Planners of Punjab, Haryana and officers from GMADA, HUDA, HSVP, HHRTC, Haryana. The tri-city issues which are to be dealt at the regional level with participation of State of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh were discussed at length - Tri-city urban Planning & Transport, Mass Rapid Transport System, Agreement with States, and Holistic Planning. Deputy Commissioner holds meeting to put an end to Child Beggary in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 8th August 2019: A meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner to discuss the issue of child beggary in the city and to discuss measures to put an end to this. Child beggary is a major issue, as millions of children are forced into this worrisome menace. With an aim to end the abusive tradition of forcing the child to beg and to completely eradicate child begging from the city, the Deputy Commissioner has directed all the officials to identify the spots where child begging is more prevalent. A special education drive starting tomorrow will be carried out till 15th August 2019 wherein the SDM’s with other team members will ensure that proper awareness is given to the parents and other involved in pushing the child towards begging. Tree Plantation Drive at Leisure Valley, Sector-51

Chandigarh, 8 th  August 2019: A tree plantation drive was undertaken on today by the Engineering Department at Leisure Valley, Sector-51, Chandigarh wherein Sh. Manoj Parida, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator U.T. was the Chief Guest and Sh.Ajoy Kumar Sinha, Finance Secretary was Guest of Honour.  All the officers and members of Resident Welfare Association planted saplings during this drive.  The Chief Engineer-cum-Spl. Secy. (Engg.) explained that these saplings were planted in lieu of 541 trees, which are likely to be axed on account of construction of Fly over at Tribune Chowk and 25 trees are to be re-transplanted.  There is a proposal for planting 2799 saplings in lieu of trees to be axed at various locations.  The drive began by planting saplings today at Leisure Valley, Sector-51 wherein 787   saplings will be planted. Chandigarh, August 8, 2019: The Deputy Commissioner, Mandip Singh Brar reviewed the arrangements for smooth celebration of 73rd Independence Day- 2019 by taking a review meeting here at with the higher officials of different departments of Chandigarh Administration. The discussions centred around arrangements of security, parade, tableaux awardees , etc. It was also decided that a special checking drive will be organised at different areas of the city. Close vigil will be maintained at the strategic locations like markets, bus stands and hotels. Demolition action against fresh un-authorized Constructions/Alterations) Chandigarh, 7th August 2019:To ensure effective actions against fresh illegal/un-authorized constructions, the dedicated Enforcement Division has come into operation. The Enforcement Squad of the Chandigarh Housing Board based on inspections/complaints, identified 35 fresh un-authorized Constructions/Alterations during last five days and on the site challans have been issued in following cases: On 07.08.2019, the Enforcement Squad undertook demolition drive in 14 cases in Secor-45 where the allottees did not stop the fresh constructions even on issuance of challan and Notice-cum-Demolition orders. In remaining cases since the allottees has stopped the further construction, they have been given three days time to remove the violations failing which the CHB will demolish the additional construction.  In case of demolition by the CHB, the demolition will be on the risk and cost of the allottee and cost...
