Raid in East Jurisdiction

Chandigarh, 1 st October, 2016: Today under the aegis of Dr. Tapasya Raghav, IAS, Sub Divisional Magistrate (EAST) a team of personal staff along with Sh. Ashok Kumar, Sanitary Inspector conducted a raid in the respective area of timber market, transport area, adjoining grain market, sector 26 and seized (approx) 8  quintal polythene and issued one challan of rupees 5000/-.

Red Cross Society Launches “Doctor Aapke Dwaar” on International Day for Elderly People

Chandigarh, 1 st  October 2016:  A unique venture  called  “DOCTOR AAPKE DWAAR”  which is a Home Health for Elderly has been  launched by  Indian Red Cross Society, U.T. Branch, Chandigarh in association with Chandigarh Administration with active support from Indian Medical Association, Chandigarh, Dabur Dhanwantari Hospital, Sector 46, Chandigarh, Bharat Vikas Parishad, Chandigarh and Health Department, U.T., Chandigarh. Smt. Kirron Kher, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) inaugurated this unique project by launching Brochure of  “DOCTOR AAPKE DWAAR- A HOME HEALTH FOR ELDERLY”  at U.T. Guest House, Sector 6, Chandigarh. The  aim of this project is to provide Health Care to the elderly at their doorsteps and give them a comfortable and homely environment. Preventive Activities by Health Department

Chandigarh, 1 st October 2016:  Today  25 cases of Dengue has been reported from various health institutions which includes18 new cases and7 confirmed amongst probable cases(till the release of press note)which brings the total number of Dengue cases to 404  in the city. Eleven new cases of Chickungunya have been reported by GMCH 32 and PGIMER. The details of58 cases of Chickungunya detected in Chandigarh is; 16 imported, 17 wrong address and 25 from Chandigarh. To further strengthen the preventive activities, daily fumigation is being carried out alongwith strengthening of field activities which includes mass awareness, checking of breeding sources like coolers, containers, tyres and other sources. MINERVA FOOTBALL ACADEMY REGIN SUPREME

Chandigarh, 30 th September, 2016: Minerva Football Academy Chandigarh defeated Chandigarh Football Association to lift 14 th Administrator’s Challenge Cup All India Football Tournament for boys U-17 by 3-0 in the final match played at Sector-17 Football Stadium. Both the teams adopted cautious approach right from the word go. Minerva lads were determined to maintain their winning sphere but Chandigarh lads slowed down the pace of the game and succeeded to stop Minerva to score any goal upto half time interval. Chandigarh lads adopted defensive strategy and posted 6 players in defence line and the star striker of Minerva Nongdamba was stopped by shadow tactics by Gurkirat of Chandigarh. SPCA-Celebrates World Rabies Day

Chandigarh, 30 th September, 2016 : Rabies is a fatal but preventable disease which kills more than 50,000 people every year and remains a major concern worldwide. It is believed that more than 95% of rabies is spread by dogs.  Started in 2007, 28 th September is celebrated as “World Rabies Day” every year with an aim to raise awareness about this deadly disease among human being. It is estimated that the exuberant cost of post exposure vaccination received by humans every year is only treating the disease but not addressing the cause. Thus far more cost effective way is to tackle the disease is at source i.e. by vaccinating the dogs. As a continuing effort to fight Rabies, SPCA-Chandigarh under the able guidance of Sh. Schedule programme of Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls

Chandigarh, 30 th September, 2016 : It is for the information of General Public as well as the Political Parties of Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency that Election Commission of India has sent a schedule programme of Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls w.r.t. 1-1-2017 as the qualifying date. The claims and objections from the residents of Chandigarh will be received from 01.10.2016 to 27.10.2016 in the Asstt. Electoral Registration Officers offices and Sampark Centers. Further, the Booth Level Officers will sit at their polling station on Special Campaign dates i.e. 16.10.2016 & 23.10.2016 from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM for receiving the claims and objections from the eligible residents of Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency.

Inauguration of “Aashiana”- Building for the Welfare of Children

Chandigarh, 29 th   September, 2016 : Smt. Kirron Kher, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Chandigarh today inaugurated the upgraded Aashiana building for the welfare of children.   “Aashiana”   formally known as Balniketan is being run by Chandigarh Child & Women Development Corporation (CCWDC) under the aegis of Social Welfare Department. This Home is providing facilities of residential accommodation to children of 0-7 years age group.  It was functioning in the old building till August, 2015.  With the initiative of Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, U.T. Chandigarh, the work for the up-gradation of   “Aashiana”   was taken up by the Engineering Department, U.T. Surveillance Drive

Chandigarh, 29 th September, 2016 : During the surveillance drive which was carried out at Bapu Dham Colony 6 challans were issued to the repeated defaulters for maintaining mosquitogenic conditions. This brings to total challans 52, 50 show cause notices and 3345 notices. Over the last two days35 cases of Dengue has been reported from various health institutions which includes25 new cases and 10 confirmed amongst probable cases(till the release of press note)which brings the total number of Dengue cases to 354 in the city. Nine new cases of Chickungunya have been reported by GMCH 32 and PGIMER. On field investigations it was observed that out of these four were imported and four was reported as wrong address and one is resident of Chandigarh.
