Awareness Drive for Child Labor

Chandigarh, 26 th May, 2017:   District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), under the aegis of District Magistrate, Chandigarh visited Burail market, sector- 45, Chandigarh on 23/5/2017 & 26/5/2017 for raising awareness about child labor. The team spotted child labor in Dhabas within the area and rescued three children in collaboration with labor department .After filing DDR and getting their medical examination done the children were rehabilitated in Child Care Institute. It is an appeal to general public not to appoint any child as a labor. Employing any child should be discouraged and we all should together uproot these ill practices which are directly violating Child Rights.

Awareness and Motivational Talk Session

Chandigarh, 24 th May, 2017:   An Awareness and Motivational Talk Session was organized today at Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School- Sec 16, Chandigarh by Education Department Chandigarh in collaboration with ICSI on the theme   “ Empowering Educators  - Transforming India”. The Principals and Heads of the UT schools attended the talk show. The distinguished speakers were Sh. Vivek Atray, I.A.S, special secretary to Govt. Haryana, Monitoring & Coordination Dept., Director Cum Special Secretary to Govt. Haryana Art & Cultural Affairs Department and Dr. Gulshan Sharma (Director General ICSI). The department officials Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, PCS, Director School Education, Smt. Saroj Mittal , DDSE Smt. Suman Sharma, Deputy Director Vocational Education , Smt. Rates of Minimum Wages

Chandigarh, 24 th May, 2017:   The half yearly Cost of Living Index Numbers of Chandigarh Centre (Base 2001 = 100) for industrial workers, issued by Labour Bureau, Shimla for the months of October, 2016 to March, 2017 are 1430.72, 1435.89, 1425.46, 1435.89, 1425.46 and 1435.89 respectively.  Thus the average (calculated for six months) cost of living index numbers as on 31.03.2017 is 1432. The previous average cost of living index numbers was 1420 points for the quarter ending 30.09.2016. Therefore, increase in average cost of living index number is 12 points. The per point neutralization in minimum rates of wages for monthly rated employees under the Minimum Wages Act is Rs. 7/-. Thus minimum rates of wages for each category of employees have been increased by Rs. 84/- p.m. on the increase of 12 points.              The following are the minimum rates of wages payable for monthly and daily rated employees...

Mid Career Training Programme
