Para Games for Divyangjans of Tricity

Chandigarh 30 th November 2017: The Department of Social Welfare Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration is organizing 4 days Para Games for Divyangjans of Tricity from 30 th November 2017 to 03 rd December 2017 in collaboration with Rotary Club, Chandigarh. The said event was inaugurated today by Sh. B.L. Sharma, IAS, Secretary Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration at the Sports Complex, Sector 46, Chandigarh. In all 210 Divyangjan from different categories like Hearing Impaired, Visually Impaired, Orthopedically Handicapped, Intellectually Disabled participated in different games like Race for 50 mtr, 100 mtr and 200 mtr; throws i.e. Javelin Throw, Discuss Throw, Shotput and also in Long Jump. Flag off ceremony of the Mobile Food Testing Laboratory

Chandigarh 30 th November 2017: The Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore today flagged off the Mobile Food Testing Laboratory,  first in the country for generating awareness among general public about food safety and various types of common adulteration in food articles. The Department of Food Safety & Standards, Chandigarh Administration organized various camps in association with Resident Welfare Associations, Public Health Department PGI for general public and demonstrated on the spot food testing with Mobile Food Testing Laboratory and the initiative was appreciated by the residents of Chandigarh. The Laboratory is installed with EMAT digital Milk Analyser, which can test any kind of milk within 37 seconds and give results. Affixing of High Security Registration Plates Starts at four notified locations

Chandigarh 30 th November 2017: It is for the information of general public/residents of Chandigarh that the process for affixing of High Security Registration Plates on new vehicles (Private and Commercial) registering in UT, Chandigarh will start from 1 st December 2017 at four notified locations i.e. the offices of R&LA, Sector-17, SDM(S), Sector-42, SDM (E), Industrial Area, Phase-I, Chandigarh, office of State Transport Authority, Sector 18, Chandigarh. The owners of the vehicle getting their vehicles registered w.e.f. 01.12.2017 shall apply for affixation of HSRP at their respective offices on the basis of receipt of Road Tax. In case, if, the owners of the vehicle of above series do not have affixed HSRP plates on their vehicles, the Traffic Police, UT, Chandigarh will be asked to initiate the process for challaning of their vehicle. The affixation of previous registered series will be taken up shortly.    

World AIDS Day

Chandigarh 30 th  November 2017:  World AIDS day is observed on 1st December every year since 1988. This day provides an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to the cause of HIV prevention & treatment, draw attention about HIV epidemic around the world, to raise awareness about HIV, to remember those who have died, to show solidarity with people living with HIV, to celebrate survival and health. The day is associated with the Red Ribbon, an instantly recognizable symbol indicating support to the cause. Chandigarh 29 th November 2017: Chandigarh Housing Board has started the process to develop two residential plots (measuring 10.51 Acre and 6.43 Acre ) and Club (measuring 3.86 Acre ) on its own at IT Habitat, RGCTP Chandigarh. All plots except four viz two residential plots and one plot for the Club, (which are being developed by CHB), and one plot earmarked for Government housing, have now been put on auction. The last date for registration and submission of e-bids for plots is 29.12.2017 and 01.01.2018 respectively. To provide further incentive to the bidders, CHB has further relaxed the terms and conditions of payment. Chandigarh Housing Board allows need based changes in its DUs

Chandigarh 28 th November 2017: Chandigarh Housing Board has allowed need based changes in its DUs through various orders from time to time subject to conditions mentioned therein.  There are many allottees who have already made additional constructions in their dwelling units which do not fulfill the conditions mentioned in need based changes orders and hence cannot be regularized.
