Chandigarh, 6 th July, 2018: In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 129 read with provisions of clause (41) of Section 2 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh is pleased to amend the Rule 193 of Chandigarh Motor Vehicle Rules, 1990 as follow;             In the said Rule, the words “or a Woman” are hereby substituted by the word “A Sikh person (including woman) wearing a turban”, with immediate effect.

Chandigarh, 3 rd   July, 2018: Govt. of India is celebrating World Population Stabilization Month w.e.f 27 th June, 2018 to 24th July, 2018. The month long activities are split into two fortnights i.e. 27th June till 10th July as World Population Awareness Generation and Mobilization Fortnight and 11th July To 27th July as Service Delivery Fortnight for Family Planning.  Likewise U.T. Chandigarh shall also be working on the similar pattern.  The campaign slogan for this year is “Ek Saarthak Kal ki Shurawaat, Parivaar Niyojan ke Saath” which is being disseminated in the general public through various awareness generation activities like bulk messaging, miking of the family planning messages, display of Banners and posters at health facilities, distribution of pamphlets to the general public. Chandigarh, 3 rd July, 2018: It is for the information to the general public/residents of Chandigarh that the registration for participating in e-auction of vehicle registration numbers of new series " CH01-BT " for special/choice registration numbers 0001 to 9999 will start from 10.07.2018 (10:00 AM) and will continue till 16.07.2018 (05:00 PM) and the e-auction will start on 17.07.2018 (10:00 AM) and will continue till 19.07.2018 (05:00PM). The owner of the vehicle can register himself/herself on the National Transport website: https://parivahan.gov.in/fancy and the link of the same is available on the Chandigarh Administration, Transport Department website: www.chdtransport.gov.in and obtain the Unique Acknowledgement Number (UAN). Chandigarh , 2 nd July 2018 : On the occasion of Van Mahotsava-2018, the ‘Paudhmela’ was inaugurated by the Chief Guest – Smt.Kirron Kher, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, U.T Chandigarh, today at Parking Place near Sukhna Lake Club. The Paudh Mela shall continue on 02 nd July, 2018 (Timing: 0700 hrs to 1300 hrs & 1600 hrs to 1900 hrs). Three Stalls of Forest Department, Municipal Corporation, Horticulture wing of Engineering Department, Chandigarh are stationed there. Forest Department is distributing saplings free of cost whereas other departments are selling at nominal rate depending on species.   One Stall of Accacia Eco Club of Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sec 16-D, Chandigarh is also stationed where Herbal plants/ Tulsi plants and giloy stems are distributed by various schools of UT Chandigarh.
