Registration for participating in e-auction of vehicle registration numbers

Chandigarh, 22 nd  March, 2019:   It is for the information to the general public/residents of Chandigarh that the  registration  for participating in e-auction of vehicle registration numbers of new series " CH01-BW " from 0001 to 9999 alongwith left over special/fancy registration numbers of previous series   “CH01-BV”, “CH01-BU”, “CH01-BT” & “CH01-BS”  (list below) will be started from 26.03.2019 (10:00 AM) and will continue till 31.03.2019 (05:00 PM). The e-auction/bidding will be started from 01.04.2019 (10:00 AM) to 03.04.2019 (05:00PM). Opening of dedicated counter for General Elections to Lok Sabha-2019

Chandigarh, 22nd March 2019:  For the smooth conduct of General Elections to Lok Sabha, 2019 of Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency, the Election Commission of India has specified the provision that “All banks or post offices to ensure that they open dedicated counters for election purpose to facilitate prompt service to the election candidates in opening of bank accounts. They should also allow withdrawals and deposits from the said account on TOP PRIORITY to the election candidates during election period.”

General Advisory for Political Parties

Chandigarh, 20th March 2019:  With the announcement of the Election Programme on 10.3.2019, the Model Code of Conduct came into immediate effect. In continuation to the general advisory regarding desisting from display of photographs of Defence Personnel or photographs of functions involving Defence personnel in advertisements by the candidates/political parties, the political parties/candidates are further advised that their campaign should desist, as part of their election campaigning, from indulging in any political propaganda involving activities of the Defence forces. 

Meeting held to maximize SVEEP campaign

Chandigarh, 19th March, 2019: A meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner cum Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Mandip Singh Brar with the Head of Departments & officials to discuss various SVEEP activities undertaken by them under the SVEEP programme. During the meeting, officials from CITCO, Chandigarh Transport Undertaking, Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee, Tourism & Estate Office discussed ideas & mediums to maximize voter awareness and participation. In order to improve participation of all sections of electorate, suggestions were made by each officer on how their department can play a role to boost the awareness programme and motivate the voters. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
