Kathak Recital by Saumya Shukla, based on selective Miniature Paintings from the Museum Collection

Chandigarh, 20 th  December 2018:  As part of the commemoration of fifty years, the Government Museum and Art Gallery, Chandigarh is celebrating its Indian miniature painting collection through a unique event where Saumya Shukla, an exponent of Kathak will be presenting through her narrative dance, the close connection between the miniature painting and Kathak. Invocation of Ganesha, love play of Radha-Krishna, celebrating the monsoon, dance at the court, will be some themes she will dwell upon to bring alive the miniature art tradition.   Saumya began her dance under the guidance of her guru Nrityashri Alaknanda, a renowned Kathak dancer and a disciple of Guru Munna Lal Shukla and Pandit Birju Maharaj.  She holds a graduation degree from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai. Administrator Launched the e-Vigilance Portal

Chandigarh, 18 th  December 2018:  Hon'ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT, Chandigarh launched the e-Vigilance Portal today at Punjab Raj Bhawan, UT, Chandigarh in the presence of Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, Advisor to the Administrator and Sh. B.L. Sharma, IAS, Secretary Vigilance. The Vigilance Clearance is required in respect of all the officers/officials of Chandigarh Administration on various occasions like promotion, ACP, Ex-India Leave, deputation, retirement etc. The process till date has been the manual one which took around 20 to 30 days.  To streamline the process and cut short the processing time, the Vigilance Department in collaboration with NIC, Chandigarh developed e-vigilance portal for the convenience of employees of the Chandigarh Administration. GST COACH App Launched by the Administrator

Chandigarh, 18 th  December 2018:  A mobile application regarding latest updated/amended Goods & Service Tax (GST) namely GST COACH, was launched by Sh. V.P Singh Badnore, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh. The app is re launched today for two reasons, i.e. firstly the student/users mark of PAN India crossed 1, 11,000 and exact number today is 1,11,606 and secondly all the changes in law are made in the online courses on the app. The app is completely free and there are no user charges. This GST Coach App was launched at Chandigarh on 11th June, 2017 by Sh. Deputy Commissioner discussed arrangements of Swasth Bharat Yatra

Chandigarh, 17th December 2018 : A meeting was held today at DC Office, Chandigarh under the chairmanship of Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, regarding the Swasth Bharat Yatra to be held in the City Beautiful from 26th December 2018. Inspired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister India vision of leveraging 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, various activities and movement have been planned.  Swasth Bharat Yatra’, a pan India Cyclothon, is a key element of the Eat Right India movement.  150 ‘Volunteer-cyclists’ along with the ‘Eat Right Mobile Unit’ and ‘Mobile Food Testing Unit’ are travelling across the country over 100+ days to engage citizens on issues of food safety, combating food adulteration and healthy diets.  Volunteer Cyclists will be handing over the symbolic relay baton to Chandigarh on 26th December, 2018. National Level Kala Utsav: Harsimranjot Kaur bags 1st position in Music for UT, Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 17 th  December 2018:  State Level Kala Utsav was celebrated as per the guidelines of MHRD/NCERT from 15 th  to 20 th November, 2018 at Bhavan Vidayalaya Sector-27 and GGMSSS-18, Chandigarh. Students who attained 1 st  position at cluster level participated in four different events i.e. Dance, Music (Vocal), Music (Instrumental) and Painting   during State level Kala Utsav.  1 st  position holders (04 boys and 04 girls) in each event at State level further participated in National level event of Kala Utsav which was held from 12 th  to 14 th  December, at National Bal Bhawan, New Delhi.
