Technical Education-cum- Chandigarh Skill Development Mission win SILVER in the 66th SKOCH Award 2020

Chandigarh.30 July,2020:The Department of Technical Education-cum- Chandigarh Skill Development Mission, UT Chandigarh, participated in the 66th SKOCH Award 2020.   Today, the SKOCH Group announced specialized award based on the performances made by the organization/States/UTs, during the year 2019-20.  The whole selection process consisted of five rounds including short-listing, presentation, expert interview and voting.  Finally, the Director Technical Education-cum-MD CSDM has brought glory for Chandigarh by wining SILVER  in Governance for implementation of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY) alongwith SKOCH ORDER OF MERIT.  Last year the department also won Skill Development Bronze award.

UT transfers monthly food subsidy for the month of August to the beneficiaries

Chandigarh, 30th July 2020: The Department of Food & Supplies, UT, Chandigarh, transfers the monthly food subsidy amount, directly into the registered bank account of the registered beneficiaries.    For the month August, 2020 the registered beneficiaries under Priority Households Category will get Rs. 128.64 per month/per member and the registered Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) beneficiaries will get Rs. 900.48 per family per month.   The subsidy amount is revised by Government of India from time to time.    You are requested to check your registered bank account in this regard.   The beneficiaries can check the details of the registered bank account on the department’s website: www.chdfood.gov.in ® Transparency portal ® Check Aadhar/ Bank Link Status. ​​For any query or complaint, a toll free Helpline Number 1800-180-2068 or 1967 or Consumer Helpline Number 1800-180-2079 is in place.   The beneficiaries can also contact the District Food ...

WHO representative presented Report on fight against corona in Chandigarh

The WHO Representative, Dr. Srinivasan Selvamani called on Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT today at Punjab Raj Bhawan and presented his report on fight against corona in Chandigarh.  In this detailed report, he appreciated the timely action of Chandigarh Administration in containing spread of infection in Bapu Dham Colony.  WHO Representative specifically appreciated strict Perimeter Control, setting up of Rapid Response Teams and involvement of Civil Defence as a part of containment strategy.  The efforts of the Administration for Aggressive Contact Tracing and Quarantine of Contacts was cited as a best practice which could be imitated by other States and UTs.
