City Beautiful Celebrates 94th Birth Anniversary Late Sh. Nek Chand

Chandigarh, 15th December 2018: The 94th birth anniversary of late Sh. Nek Chand, the creater of world famous Rock Garden was celebrated at the third phase of Rock Garden today. The Principle Secretary Home cum Chairman Rock Garden Society, Sh. A K Gupta paid floral tribute at the memorial of the legend.  A musical program was also organized by the Rock Garden Society for the visitors. The old songs sung by young artists gave a melodious touch to the beautiful evening dedicated to the iconic artist. In continuation to the celebrations, the ghazal evening will be organized tomorrow. The event witnessed a spectacular footfall and everyone recalled the legendary Nek Chand and his exemplary contribution to make the City Beautiful famous on the global map.

Electoral Registration Officer holds meeting with Political Parties

Chandigarh, 13 th  December 2018 : The Deputy Commissioner-cum- Electoral Registration Officer, Chandigarh, Sh. Mandip Singh Brar held a meeting today at DC Office Chandigarh with all the Political Parties to discuss the issues pertaining to the General Election to Lok Sabha 2019 of Chandigarh constituency. The main agenda of the meeting was filter/clear the electoral rolls by enrolling all the eligible residents and by removing multiple entries/dead and shifted electors. It was desired by Electoral Registration Officer that all the political parties may check multiple votes and leftout eligible residents in all the area wise booths. Samadhan Shivir held to resolve pending issues or allottees

Chandigarh, 13th December 2018:  The Chandigarh Housing Board again organized “SAMADHAAN SHIVIR” at the CHB premises today to resolve pending issues of the allottees on the spot.   This camp was held under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, Chandigarh Housing Board.  There were total 22 number of allottees/applicants participated in the said Shivir and projected their problems/grievances. Over 90% of the problems were resolved on the spot by providing guidance/clarifications by the CHB officials. This interactive session was aimed at providing platform to the allottees to seek guidance from the concerned officials and “ON THE SPOT” resolution of their issues.  It was a mutually satisfying and successful exercise. Secretary Social Welfare discusses issues of Senior Citizens in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 13th December 2018:  A meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Sh.B.L. Sharma, Secretary Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration with Sh. Administrator lays foundation stone of Block B building at CHB Office Complex

Chandigarh, 12 th  December 2018:  Sh. V P Singh Badnore, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T Chandigarh laid the foundation stone of Block B building at Chandigarh Housing Board Office Complex, Sector 9, Chandigarh today. The Block B of Chandigarh Housing Board will be a seven storey building sprawled in the area of 1,31,620 sq ft besides the double basement having the area 41, 972 sq ft. The Block B has been conceptualized as the green building targeted for gold rating which includes green design features such as efficient water flow features, onsite STP, rain water harvesting, Solar PV 50 KWp to reduce grid demand. Ground-Breaking Ceremony of New Secretariat Building

Chandigarh, 12th December 2018: The Ground-Breaking ceremony of the proposed basement (1) and 7 storied New Secretariat Building, Sector-9 Chandigarh was held today by Sh. V.P. Singh Bandore, Hon'ble Governor of Punjab & Administrator, Chandigarh.  The building will house the offices of the Administrator, Adviser  to the Administrator, Finance Secretary, Home Secretary and all other departments of Chandigarh Administration under one location.  The construction work of 214000 sq ft building is awarded with the cost of 49.7 Cr. The building has been designed by considering the green building parameters as an energy efficient building which is one of its first kinds in Chandigarh.  The state of art building aims to have advanced technological features and will be controlled and monitored centrally. Additional Solicitor General of India visits Child Care Institution Snehalaya

  Chandigarh, 9 th December 2018: The Social Welfare Committee Constituted by the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator U.T., Chandigarh under the chairmanship of Sh. Satya Paul Jain, Additional Solicitor General of India visited Child Care Institution Snehalaya. Other members of Committee were Ms. Ruchi Singh, Director Social Welfare, Mrs. Sangeeta Vardhan, Chairperson CWC, Dr. Shruti Aagarwal, Sh. Narinder Chaudhary and Dr. Ravneet alongwith other nominated members. The Committee also interacted with the children of the home. Sh. Satya Paul Jain expressed his satisfaction about the overall working of Snehalaya. He also interacted with the children in private and children raised some demands like Kabaddi ground, Cricket Net, consultancy regarding Army entry etc. The Chairperson assured to fulfil all the demands raised by the children. He also assured that he will be visiting again very shortly and shall spend some quality time with the children.
