Rose Festival Day 2

Chandigarh, 18 th   February, 2017:  The second day of the 45 th   Chandigarh Rose Festival saw large footfall of the   50,000-60,000 residents   from tricity and areas   around . The main attraction of the 45 th   Rose festival today also remained the Helicopter rides. The day was ended with the magical performance of Singer Sukshinder Shinda at the leisure Valley. He began the event with the song “Chitt karey sajna de vede” and dedicated a special song to the festival “red rose waango tu vi fabhti”.  The other attractions of the day were Crowning ceremony of Rose King and Queen by Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration. Sh. Ashok Khurana was crowned as Rose King and Usha Sharma as Rose Queen. This  was followed by Crowning ceremony of Rose Prince and Princess, Contest for newly married couples, photography exhibition, folk dance and kite flying competition

Allotment of flats Dwelling units to the eligible oustees

Chandigarh, 16 th February, 2017:    Chandigarh Housing Board has invited applications w.e.f. 30.1.2017 for allotment of flats/Dwelling units to the eligible oustees of UT under Self Financing Scheme on Leasehold/freehold Basis under “Chandigarh Allotment of dwelling units to the Oustees of Chandigarh, Scheme, 1996”.  The scheme closes on 28.2.2017. The Chandigarh Housing Board has offered i.e. 263 Dwelling Units (27 HIG(3BR) 102 MIG(2BR) 60 LIG(1BR) & 74 EWS (One Room) to various oustees, as per their option. The Registration and allotment of flats is only open to the Eligible Oustees of UT Chandigarh in cases of Land/House was acquired for which notification under section 4 of the Land Acquisition Act was issued before 31.10.2007. This is the last and final opportunity to such Oustees of UT Chandigarh for allotment of flats/dwelling units. Thereafter no claim of Oustees whatsoever shall be entertained. Raid conducted

Chandigarh, 16 th   February, 2017:   Under the directions of Dr. Tapasya Raghv, IAS, SDM (East), a polythene raid had been conducted at Pipliwala town, Mariwala town and Shantinagar, Manimajra today. About 18 No's. Challans of Rs. 500/- were issued to the defaulters and 8 k.g polythene has been seized.

Inauguration of 50 kWp Rooftop Grid tied Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant and Science Park

Chandigarh, 15 th February, 2017:    Today, 50 kWp Rooftop Grid tied Solar Photovoltaic Power Plant and Science Park were inaugurated at Government Girls Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 18-C, Chandigarh by Sh. Ajay Narayan Jha, IAS,  Secretary to Govt. of India , Ministry of Environment, Forests & Clime Change, New Delhi, in the presence of Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, UT Chandigarh and Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary-cum-Secretary (Env, Forests, S & T and Renewable Energy). Later on while interacting with the media, Sh. Ajay Narayan Jha appreciated the efforts taken by UT Administration in developing Chandigarh as a Model Solar City. The Chief Guest took a round of the Science Park which has been established by School with financial assistance from Dept of Science & Technology and Renewable Energy at a cost of about Rs 2.0 lakh. Anti Encroachment Drive

Chandigarh, 15 th February, 2017:   As per the direction of SDM (E) Chandigarh on 14.2.2017, the Enforcement Wing had conducted an anti-encroachment drive for the removal of encroachments from Industrial Area, Phase-I Chandigarh. During the drive, approximately 54 no challans were issued to the encroachers and seized racks, batteries, chairs, steel items, plastic items, tables, folding bed, kabari items etc. No untoward incident took place.
