Regional Employment Exchange to Organize Seminar on “Career Awareness as an Officer in Indian Air Force

Chandigarh, 6 th  September 2018:  Under the guidance of Chandigarh Administration, Regional Employment Exchange in association with Director Higher Education is going to organize a Motivational Seminar on “Career Awareness as an Officer in Indian Air Force”.  It will be a two days event. Group Captain Manish Sabharwal from Disha Cell, Air Headquarter (Vayu Bhawan) Govt. of India, New Delhi will address the young minds in detail regarding entry into Indian Air Force as an Officer, their duties in different fields. On 14.9.2018 the event is being held in DAV Post Graduate College Sector-10, Chandigarh and on 15.9.2018 the event will be held in GGDSD College, Sector-32, Chandigarh at 11.00 am.  Both Boys & Girls who are pursuing their graduation can attend the seminar, whereas  students of all colleges at Chandigarh will participate in this seminar. An exhibition regarding Indian Air Force will also be put up on this occasion. 

GMSH 16 & Indian Dietetics Association Celebrates Poshan Mah

Chandigarh,  6th September, 2018 :   Dietetics Department , Govt. Multi Specialty hospital , Sector -16, Chandigarh in Association with Indian Dietetics Association, Chandigarh Chapter celebrated National Nutrition Month , Poshan Mah on   the theme “ Ensuring focused intervention on addressing under-nutrition during the first 1000 days of the child: Better Health Child”. The emphasis of the Continued Nutrition Education (CNE)–cum workshop was to lay emphasis on the converging of various agencies namely Department of Social Welfare, Education and Health in disseminating the richness of all the nutrients can be incorporated to make wholesome diet in a daily routine. SDM (E) Shuts Down Illegal Bakeries in Hallomajra

Chandigarh, 6th September 2018: Sub Divisional Magistrate (East), Sh. Arjun Sharma, IAS, U.T, Chandigarh has ordered the shuts down of 9 illegal bakeries in Village Hallomarja, U.T, Chandigarh.   Issuing conditional order U/s 133 Cr.P.C, SDM (East) has directed the bakeries owner to stop their business as it was injurious to public health and safety.    A report from Health Department of U.T, Chandigarh had intimated that total 9 illegal bakeries were running in the respective area Village Hallomajra of U.T, Chandigarh.  Accordingly the Food Safety Officers conducted inspections in the area of Village Hallomajra and found 9 bakeries were running illegally without having NOC from the local body/Municipal Corporation and without NOC from Pollution Control Committee.   During the course of inspection it was found that waste from these units was spreading in the drains and causing pollution in the area.  

Chandigarh Administration invites suggestions on Solid Waste Management Policy

Chandigarh, 5th September 2018:    In pursuance of the "Chandigarh Solid Waste Management Policy", dated 04.09.2018,  in accordance with the provisions under rule-11 (1) of Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016, notified by Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change, New Delhi, suggestions from general public and other stakeholders are invited within a period of 7 days from the date of issue of this notification i.e. upto 12.09.2018.  The copy of the notification No.FII(9)-2018/13581 dated 04.05.2018 is placed in the public domain at the official website of Chandigarh Administration i.e. www.chandigarh.gov.in and www.mcchandigarh.gov.in for inviting suggestions/comments. Awareness Drive held Under Rashtriya Poshan Maah

Chandigarh, 5 th  September 2018:  The POSHAN Maah is being celebrated  throughout the country from 1st to 30th September, 2018. The theme of the POSHAN Maah for September 2018 is "Har Ghar POSHAN Tyohaar”. The basic objective of this POSHAN Maah event is to reduce stunting, under-nutrition, anemia (among young children, women and adolescent girls) & to intensify awareness on the importance of nutrition for health.  Under this awareness drive, the Department of Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration in the convergence with Song & Drama Division & Mamta NGO organized awareness programmes through musical programs at Dhanas rehabilitation Colony & Kudda Jassu village. Vice-Chairman, National Commission for Safai Karamcharis holds meeting with officials of Chandigarh Administration

Chandigarh, 5 th  September 2018:   Sh. Hansraj Hans, Hon’ble Vice-Chairman, National Commission for Safai Karamcharis, New Delhi  visited Chandigarh today to study the socio-economic, living, working, service and educational conditions of Scavengers/Safai Karamcharis residing in UT, Chandigarh.  The Vice-Chairman held a meeting with Senior Officers of Chandigarh Administration and representatives of the Safai Karamcharis working in Municipal Corporation and other departments at UT Guest House, Chandigarh to discuss their issues/demands. The Director Social Welfare welcomed Hon’ble Vice-Chairman on behalf of the Chandigarh Administration and briefed the schemes and issues relating to the Safai Karamcharis.  Hon’ble Vice-Chairman also apprised that Chandigarh is a well planned city and is equipped with modern infrastructure having effective drainage/ sewerage system. Teacher's Day Celebrations

Chandigarh, 5 th September 2018: The Teacher’s day Function organized by the Education Department of Chandigarh Administration was presided by Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator Chandigarh Sh. VP Singh Bandore today at at PG Govt College, Sector 42, Chandigarh. On this occasion the department honored 10 teachers with state Award and 4 teachers with Commendation Certificate for their appreciable work done during their service. A book namely Experiential Learning- Nai Taleem was also released on this occasion. The book is a joint effort of state council of Educational Research and Training, UT and Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, Hyderabad. The book is expected to inspire this movement to cover progressively 25 crore students of educational institutes at different levels in the country covering 80 lakh primary school teachers and 20 lakh secondary school teachers, spread over 17.5 lakh primary schools and 2.5 lakh secondary schools across the country....

Redressal of pending demand concerning the Industries Association of Chandigarh and Chandigarh Beopar Mandal

Chandigarh, 4th September, 2018:  The Industries Association of Chandigarh and Chandigarh Beopar Mandal had represented before the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore regarding the issues pertaining to their functioning in Chandigarh. POSHAN Maah Celebrations

Chandigarh, 4th September, 2018:  The  Department of Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration in collaboration with Department of Health Services and Food & Nutrition Board U.T. Chandigarh, Sector – 23 organized lectures on Diarrhea in all the 450 anganwadi Centre’s  of U.T. Chandigarh under POSHAN Maah. A total of 8360 participants were given awareness. Food & Nutrition Board, UT Chandigarh also organized State level workshop on Brest Feeding & Importance of the First 1000 days of Newly Born babies Care at Sector -23 Food & Nutrition Board building. Participants CDPOs & Supervisors were from states of  Punjab, Haryana & U.T. Chandigarh.
