Chandigarh hosts Digital India Conclave underlining its journey

State Level Competitions held under Chandigarh Skill Development Mission

Chandigarh, 30 th  August, 2018:  The Chandigarh Skill Development Mission has been making sincere efforts in analyzing Skill competencies of the Students at National and International level by continuously putting best efforts to scale up the skills of the children, thereby helping them show their potential at various Levels. For participation in the World Skill Competition scheduled to be held at Kazan, Russia, 2019, the Chandigarh Skill Development Mission selected 41 students through State Level Competitions who were facilitated By Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. Chandigarh to celebrate Rashtriya Poshan Maah

Chandigarh, 30th August 2018:  An orientation convergence meeting regarding the  Rashtriya Poshan Maah  was held under the chairmanship Sh B.L. Sharma, Secretary Social Welfare with all the line departments at U.T., Secretariat today.  The Poshan Abhiyan is being implemented in U. T., Chandigarh in order to address the issues of Malnutrition , under-nutrition, anemia , reduce stunting and  reduce low birth weight in the age group of under 6 children, Pregnant & Nursing Mothers and Adolescent Girls. During the meeting, Secretary Social Welfare outlined the details of Poshan Abhiyan and Rashtriya Poshan Maah which is to be celebrated across the U.T., Chandigarh in the month of September. SDM Enquiry Reveals Possible Murder of Baby Girl

Chandigarh, 28th August 2018:  A complaint was received from village Hallomajra, U.T, Chandigarh regarding the murder of a baby girl of around 25 days through police station, Sector 31, Chandigarh.  Acting on this complaint the Arjun Sharma, IAS, SDM (East) ordered an inquiry U/s 176 Cr.P.C.   In this inquest, the SDM (E) constituted a board of doctors to exhume the body and to carry out the postmortem of the body.  The body was exhumed in the presence of SDM (E) and the statements of relatives were recorded. Subsequently postmortem revealed that the death has been caused by blunt force which was an impact injury on the brain of the baby girl.  The SDM (E) concluded that the death of the baby girl in Hallomajra was an unnatural one.   Accordingly suspecting foul play and murder, the SDM (E) directed the local police to register an FIR and catch the culprits responsible for causing the death of the baby girl.

Applications invited for teaching the school students on voluntary basis once a week

Chandigarh, 27th August 2018 :  Education Department invited application in the year 2016 from Serving/Retired Bureaucrats,Doctors,Judicial Officers, Journalists,Engineers,Defense Officers,Advocates and other professionals who are interested in teaching the school students on voluntary basis once a week (for maximum one hour or one lecture) in Govt. Schools. Good number of interested Serving/retired officers/professionals conveyed their subject/field of expertise, preferred Govt. school where they want to teach and suitable time of teaching. Later on from time to time many such Serving/Retired Professionals/Officers submitted their applications and offered their services.
