ORDER

WHEREAS vide order No. 13180-HIII(5)/2020/4706 dated 02/05/2020 the State Disaster   Management Authority had declared six areas of Chandigarh as CONTAINMENT ZONE.   WHEREAS the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India Vide letter dated 17/05/2020 laid down parameters for ending containment operations, where no case in reported in the last 28days. AMENDED STANDARD OPERATING PROTOCOL (SOP) FOR INSTITUTIONAL QUARANTINE OF CHANDIGARH RESIDENTS ARRIVING FROM ABROAD

In exercise of the powers, he undersigned, in his capacity as Principal Secretary Health, hereby orders the following amendment in the Standard operating Protocol (SOP) for Institutional Quarantine of Chandigarh Residents Arriving from Abroad, for strict implementation by concerned authorities. Amendment The contents of Para No. 2 (Protocol) of the above said SOP (Passengers shall by institutionally quarantined for a period of 14 days. If they do not develop any symptom of COVID during 14 days, they will be allowed to go home and will undertake self-monitoring of their health for 14 more days as per protocol) shall be read as under as per latest guidelines issued by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on 24.05.2020: “Before boarding, al travellers shall give an undertaking that they would undergo mandatory quarantine for 14 days- 7 days paid institutional at their own cost, followed by 7 days isolation at home with self-monitoring of health.”

“Dies Non” in respect of the allottees/occupants of Government Houses

  Chandigarh, 22 May 2020: Covid-19 has been declared as a pandemic by World Health Organization (W.H.O) and to control its spread, nationwide lockdown has been imposed.   Furthermore,  UT Chandigarh Administration had imposed curfew/lockZdown to prevent potential spread of the Covid-19 infection. Many allottees could not move in or vacate their houses due to lockdown. Since it will be unfair to penalize them, the UT Administration has decided to consider the period from 1st March 2020 to 31st May 2020 as “Dies Non” in respect of the allottees/occupants of Government Houses for all means and purposes.  No penal rent will be charged for the period.  The usual house vacation/occupation period will be accordingly extended.

Shramik Special Train Press Release

Chandigarh, 22 May 2020: Due to lockdown, some of the migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons are stranded at Chandigarh. For smooth movement of these persons, the Chandigarh Administration has made elaborate arrangements to ensure comfortable and safe journey through Shramik Special Trains. Two Holding Centres have been set up at Chandigarh College of Engineering Technology (CCET) in Sector-26 where the persons are medically examined and provided packed lunch. Thereafter they are sent to Railway Station through buses where they are provided packed food and one litre water bottle for the journey, before boarding in assigned coaches. M/s Kandhari Beverage Private Limited of Chandigarh is providing Juices/Coke to each of the passenger of all the Shramik Special Trains scheduled upto 31.05.2020. BAPU DHAM COLONY COUNCILLOR MEETS ADVISER

Chandigarh, 22nd May 2020: On the request of Sh. Dalip Sharma, Municipal Councillor of Bapu Dham Colony, an exclusive meeting was held today in the Conference Hall of UT Secretariat, which was presided over by Adviser, Sh. Manoj Parida.   Senior officers including Principal Secretary Home, Director General of Police, Finance Secretary, Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Deputy Commissioner and SDM (East) attended the meeting. The Councillor expressed his grievance regarding continuous confinement of the local people.   He requested that migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar etc. should be allowed to return to their homes, since they are in Buffer Zone and not in Containment Zone.   He also requested that for treating non-covid cases, a mobile dispensary should be operated within the Bapu Dham Colony.   The Councillor expressed his gratitude to Hon’ble Administrator, Sh.
